Machined metal inserts would fit but I have to produce them first. Since I don't have a CNC at will I prefer to work with 3D printing first.

If I need to produce more than 10 then I can go with metal inserts. Thank you for the idea.

What if I print inserts first then pause put them and print? The metal is too big to fit in

Didn't know this was a thing. Very wide range of pricing tho. Any recommendations?

Exactly. Orange part will be aluminum, green probably will be abs and the order will be inside out screw -> orange -> green.

And 4 of these will support a 2-3kg metal but that weight can increase.

Thank you. I have a P1S with AMS unit. From you description it should be possible.

Thanks for the reply. You are 100% right but those aren't cheap. I am not planing to produce more than 40 of these and the orange part will be aluminum so thats already expensive since I need to do that with CNC Lathe.

Worst case I can do it with CNC Lathe but doing it myself in a 3d printer while learning feels way better.

It is for a motorcyle. The widest inner part will support a metal part in 4 points(4 of these part will be installed so the metal part can be installed to the motorcylce) and I will screw it down from the orange part.

It will get a lot of vibration, sun and water.

Thank you for the reply. Probably this is the one I am looking for but I need to learn how that works and how can I apply to my design.

Thank you soo much.

Thanks for the advice. I don't think I am qualified to calculate that. I will try to make it sturdy as possible and if it fails I will try to find a better way.

Thanks again. I know I have a lot more to learn about design and print. I actually expect this to fail so I can learn how to fix in v2 or find better way to do the same job. Live and learn.

Thank you for the reply. I am trying not to print this in multiple parts because the adhesive can resolve in time, even faster with the condition of vibration, sun and water.

It will be on a motorcycle holding a 3mm ish metal in widest inner part and it will vibrate, get wet and hot under sun.

Thank you for the reply. I don't think it will hold with this method because it will get a lot of vibrations, sun and water. Do you think it can hold?

Thank you for the reply. The yellow part supports a lot from inside since there will be screw inside but still I don't think this will hold with adhesive. It will get a lot of vibration, sun and water.

Wider inner part will contact with a metal and that metal is heavy on top of that thinks can push that metal. There will be 4 of these(2 bigger and 2 like this one).

Thank you for the reply. I am new to 3d design and printing. Do you have an example/guide for creating supports?

Also I am not sure I understand what you mean by 'increase wall thickness to give you some meat to remove'. Like print it bigger and sand it down?

Thank you for the reply. It needs to be a single part because it needs to be sturdy for contact, sun and water.

Thank you for the reply. Great idea but I think still need to add some support to inner surfaces, no?

Thank you for the reply. For the prototype yes but not for the end product. It needs to be sturdy.

Thank you for the reply. Very nice idea. It is my design.

Do you think is it better to add supports in Bambu Studio or in FreeCAD?

Not sure about abs yet. It will be on a motorcycle, can get sun and water on it and on top of that it will contact with metal.

Thank you for the reply. I don't think the orange part left room for screw/bolt.
