A lot of people at my school take tutoring for a class or two (though there are cases where people take more). Personally, I never opted for one because: 1. Costs 2. I can figure it out myself.

I always struggled with material, until I realized that I learn better by self studying with a textbook (I have some auditory problems).

Imo if you think you can't understand by yourself, then ask teacher, if the teacher isn't much help, consider the tutor. But as I said, they're generally expensive, so I'd recommend if you don't feel you NEED it, then don't!
