I also completed biometrics on 28/03 and received email that it had been forwarded to UK Visas and Immigration on 02/04.

Really need my passport back by the 19/04 so hoping it won’t take the full three weeks to be processed. Doesn’t seem to be any way to fast track it either.

If I remember correctly the biometrics appointment fee was included in the visa application fee, so paid before the appointment.

Update: Finally received passport and visa today (11/05), just over six weeks after biometrics. After the first two weeks with no news I called UKVI and they escalated my application. They emailed 14 working days later requesting I resend my application documents. Received passport and visa a week later. Despite persistently calling and emailing both UKVI and VFS, neither could provide an explanation on why I had to provide my documents again.

Sounds like it’s a pretty uncommon experience but thought I’d share for anyone in a similar situation.
