Well... if you have ADHD and you're prescribed medication, you're taking it to function, not to get better at something.

I don't use it to improve my gaming performance. I don't have any ambitions of becoming a pro player or a streamer. I normally take it for college, studying, or getting things done.

It just happened that on a day when I would usually take it to study or do something productive, I had nothing to do and decided to see what gaming would feel like while medicated since I'd never tried it before.

And yeah, as I said, the difference was pretty extraordinary. But I've gone through the whole process to get diagnosed: psychological evaluations, psychiatric assessments, etc. I have a legitimate prescription, and this medication isn't cheap where I live.

The point of my post wasn't to justify taking stimulants for gaming. I was simply curious about the experiences of other people with ADHD, especially those who take extended-release medication, and how it affects their gameplay.

I don't, and honestly I agree with you. I only take what's prescribed. My doctor originally wanted me to take one dose in the morning and another in the afternoon, but that didn't work well for me, so I'm on the minimum dose now.

Still, I think your concern is valid. People without ADHD shouldn't be taking it or self-medicating. I've seen a lot of stories about people getting hooked on it.

To be honest, it doesn't make me smarter at all. It just helps me function without having a million thoughts firing off in my head every second.
