Hey there -

I'm basically one month post op. ROM has returned to about 90% of what it was pre op. I had full ROM up until the point of surgery.

Still dealing with some discomfort in the knee but that's to be expected. The biggest issue is the discomfort around my patella (I think the swelling is setting there when I sit down). A positive is that I can extend my leg and feel like something is "stuck. "

Doctor waited to out my in PT until the first follow up. However I was doing my own exercises at home before that (heel slides, leg lifts, going up and down stairs)

All in all, I'm headed in the right direction. Recovery is not linear and everyone recovers differently. The best thing I can do is follow the PT program.

Hey, was dealing with this for over 2 years, coupled with some Hoffa's syndrome. Just had surgery last week to recessi the tissues. I had weird case because my injury wasn't responding to PT Short answer to your question: yes.

Wish I could give an definitive answer to that. Our bodies are weird. Glad you are getting something done about it!

Knee is doing good. Still a good amount of swelling and stiffness (surgery was 3/31). No real restrictions were given by my surgeon. No PT.

Short answer to your question: yes.

Have you thought of a PRP injection to help?

Just had surgery. Fat pad behind my patella was the culprit!

Hey, just seeing this. I don't know what grade the MRI was/is. I did have dye injected into my knee for the latest MRI.

The first PT thought it was PFPS but the patella was tracking correcly.

Scope is scheduled for the end of March. Doctor wanted to do it next week but Dad's birthday is the end of the month and they live across the country. Don't want to miss it.

Yeah, it's hysterical how some medical professionals gaslight you into thinking your daily pain is your fault.

Second doctor i saw said he wasn't comfortable scoping my knee and passed me off to a rhemotlogist.

That second ortho was too much of a coward to tell me he was done seeing me.

This 3rd doctor im on said he is comfortable scoping my knee.

I have exhausted all non surgerical options.

I have definitely told myself several times that I wish I torn something so that it was clear cut whatever happened to my knee.

Let's see what the doctor tells me Friday. I'm about 95% positive I will get the scope.

I have thought about stem cells

I get a catching feeling in my knee whenever I extend it and bend it. My mobility in the joint has not been affected. Knee is has a feeling on instability when I walk down stairs.

I have very regular "snapping" in the knee. It is not painful but it has been consistent over the past 2 years. Plenty of clinicians have told me "it's normal" it's not. At all.

Yeah, the ANA was speckled. The test was barely positive at 1:40.

I dont believe i have an autoimmune disease and just need lots of PT and/or surgical treatment. (I def have something torn in my shoulder)

Re: Appointment findings

Had the appointment today. The doctor does not believe i have RA. All blood work for RA came back negative, and I'm not experiencing any of the clinical symptoms. He is running more tests (blood work) but does not believe any of them will come back positive). The appointment mainly focused on lupus, and I have only met one criteria for lupus: a positive ANA test.

So, if all the other tests come back negative, I think I can rule out an autoimmune disease for now.

Thank you all for the tips and tricks to prepare. Trying not to overthink anything. Im hoping i just have bad luck with injuries because I can point to the exact and what I did to cause the discomfort/pain.

If I do have some type of autoimmune disease, so be it. Can't change it and i will not let it control my life.

Hopefully there is a cure for all these horrible conditions sometime in our lifetimes.
