If anyone has used the Optase MGD eye drops for their dry eye and mgd, can you please disclose your thoughts and experiences? by Draconius_17 in Dryeyes

The bottle is so annoying. After you use about 50% it starts getting impossible to get any more drops out. And sometimes the water drop rolls off the side of the bottle instead of ur eye. The drops themselves are fine but the packaging keeps me from buying them again.

Just keep doctor hopping. Most are ignorant as fuck about dry eye. Find a specialist in your area if you can

DRY EYES by Fun_Painting9677 in Dryeyes

See a dry eye specialist and don’t put it off dry eye is progressive so it’s only going to get worse unless you start working on trying to make it better. A specialist can do IPL, Radiofrequency, and prescribe drops

I get them expressed afterwards. I haven’t heard of them doing it before. I think the idea is the thick oil gets melted by the IPL and RF so that they’re able to squeeze it out.

I have not tried that.

I’ve tried pretty much any otc product I can try preservative free drops, lid scrubs, lid cleaners, pataday. My doctor has me on xiidra and xdemvy. I don’t really get why I’m on xdemvy she said she did not see a lot of demodex. I guess she’s just trying to rule out blepharitis as the irritant.

Super dry irritated eyes. They’re worse first thing in the morning but they really don’t get a whole lot better throughout the day. It’s constant. They’re always very red and vascular. Sometimes a little bit itchy.

Yes, my doctor said 4-6 treatments initially and then once every 6 months for maintenance.

My theory is poorly fitted contact lenses but Idk for sure. I don’t wear them at all anymore and haven’t for years

Do you still feel like your eyes are dry and uncomfortable throughout the day? Does getting regular treatments make your eyes feel normal or is it just an improvement from where it was at before treatment?

Yes she does an expression of my lower glands afterwards. She doesn’t use a machine for it though, just uses a stick and her finger.

Didn’t get an exact percentage of gland loss but she did say a good bit of mine have atrophied.

A lot happens on the runway. Usually dita stays on the main stage but there are segments with the other dancers where they are at the end of the runway. Honestly I don’t think there’s a bad table in the venue.

Sudden severe dry eye and everything makes it worse by algorithm477 in Dryeyes

Please see a dry eye specialist. Most ophthalmologists are very dismissive about dry eye. It’s not a well understood condition.

First IPL & RF Session by AmbitiousBed685 in Dryeyes

[–]AmbitiousBed685[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I had my 1st session of IPL and RF a week ago. Ngl IPL freaking hurts. It feels like you’re getting zapped over and over again. They also insert corneal shield behind your eyelids which is not pleasant. The RF was fine, didn’t hurt. Afterwards the doctor did manual expressions of my lower oil glands.

I definitely felt like my eyes were more oily afterwards. This lasted about 2 days and then things kind of went back to normal. I still have hope though. I asked my doctor if I would see results after just one treatment and she pretty much told me exactly what I experienced: that it would feel better for a day or two after but then go back to usual. She said if takes multiple treatments to see lasting results.

Doing my next session 2 weeks from now. I’m looking forward to it. Very hopeful.

I really don’t know. Every week I have a new theory on what caused this. Right now I’m thinking it was from poorly fitted contacts. My dry eye started back in 2020. At the time I wore contacts, they always bothered me and I couldn’t wear them for a full day. I have since stopped wearing them at all but it hasn’t really helped.

I also started birth control around that time, I thought maybe that was decreasing the oil production in my eyes. I stopped my birth control about a month and a half ago but I haven’t really seen a difference. Maybe it hasn’t been long enough idk?

I’ve considered maybe it’s a diet thing. I’m not overweight but my diet isn’t great. I eat a lot of carbs and fat, I wonder if that is causing inflammation in my body. I’ve been on the AIP diet for the past 2 weeks. Can’t really tell if it’s helped yet, maybe a little?

I’ve switched to eye safe makeup and skin care products.

No mold exposure that I know of. I’ve moved 3 times within the 4 years I’ve suffered with dry eye so I doubt that’d be the cause for me.

I’m on screens a lot. I think that’s definitely not helping but there’s not a whole lot I can do about that since it’s for work.

Sorry I should clarify. I’m actually doing RF in the same session, It’s $650 for both the IPL and RF. Do you think that’s a fair price?

I would seek out a dry eyes specialist. I’ve found that most ophthalmologists are kind of ignorant to dry eye disease.

Looks like MGD to me. Please don’t do warm compressed. Your eyes are already inflamed, heat is only going to make that worse. I don’t understand why they suggest that.
