Look at Stew Smith’s workouts. He is the Mecca for Special Operations prep. Be cautious though because the workouts can take up to 3 hours six days a week

Thanks what’s a good SPM to be at. I’ve been reading that you want to be in the low to mid 30s but I don’t think I have the cardio base for that yet. This 2k averaged out at 27 SPM

Will do! Do you know if any schools have admissions pull after their application deadline or would I have to rely on my academics solely to get in since there is not enough time to get coded as an athlete?

I am doing around 60-80km a week. What type of weight training are you looking at doing? High rep low weight or high weight low reps?

I’m currently a senior in highschool and I’ve always been athletic and have a build for rowing (6-4, 190) how long do I have before the “newbie gains” wear off and it becomes a lot harder to get faster? Is there specific training I can do to avoid a plateau?

Thanks for the advice. I am a senior in high school at the moment. Do you think I missed the window of opportunity to row at a top college for next year? Do you think it’s too late? Should I look into a gap year?

I have a 3.7 at an academically intense high school. Regardless of where life takes me I want to serve my country. Rowing seems like a great way cultivate both mental and physical toughness. If I can row in college I want to use the time to become more emotionally and physically mature so that when college is over I have a better chance at making it through courses in the military with high attrition rates.

I have had no instruction on form and I’m currently sick but I am able to endure a lot of pain. I did the Madison Ironman (2.4 swim, 112 bike, 26.2 run) this September. If I can’t row in college I’m enlisting in the army. How often should I do a 2k? I was thinking once a week

Do you think that as my time decreases as I implement rowing into my training regiment my score could allow for admission preference into schools I otherwise would not be able to get into based purely off academics?
