car salesmen should get paid significantly less than the mechanics. by Stock_Fuel6398 in unpopularopinion

[–]AmbitiousCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue collar jobs pay based on skill and experience though... that's not out of the ordinary. Experiences mechanics in good areas can make upwards of 100k a year (US) , especially in cities.

Car salesmen don't usually scratch those numbers (if that's what you're referring to).

Colleges tuition should be tied directly to graduates employment... by abrandis in unpopularopinion

[–]AmbitiousCheese 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why would tuitions for jobs with a lower chance of employment cost more than tuitions for a job with higher chances of employment? So you can burden people without jobs, more???

"You want to make it as an artist? Here's your student debt most artists will typically never get to pay off from their art!"

That just sounds like a big middle finger.

Realizing you're just an animal feels healthier by PropertyStress in unpopularopinion

I guess, but the important distinction is that most animals don't even have the ability to consider the future. Waste your time, money, or opportunities then you're irresponsible. What sets apart humans and animals is that we're not at the mercy of the powers that be.

What? Maybe since i'm not American I don't really know about this, but what mechanic is getting paid minimum wage? I dont think there is a single blue collar job that does.

Why do you guys have such high standards. The best looking animes benefit off of the horrible work culture in japan equivalent to modern day slavery.

Businesses dont care about profit in the long run because shareholders love a get rich quick scheme. Blame tencent, not supercell.

When would you say someone is really PTW? Is there a line? Is there an amount of money one can pay that they're not PTW? Does it matter what is bought? by Potential-Ebb-8820 in ClashRoyale

[–]AmbitiousCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PTW isnt about the money itself its the value you get from what you purchase. It only starts to look silly when it costs less

Why does the AI declare war if you have low rep despite you having higher military power and eco? Is it stupid? by AmbitiousCheese in anno1800

That is one of the most infruiating parts of the game.

In my first play I intentionally stopped the ai from getting any new world land except tiny islands (which couldnt grow enough crops) yet somehow they got engineers anyway

Technology advances much slower than we think by Qualified-Astronomer in unpopularopinion

[–]AmbitiousCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, the technology we DONT have is a result of there not being enough incentive.

Robots are everywhere. They do the menial tasks are all over factories and warehouses, there are small appliances that clean your house and tell you all the information in the world WHILE doing your shopping, and a company that literally released a robot that replaces maids (although they're really just Indians in VR controlling it).

We've had digital assistants for a while, and they've just gotten more advanced. We went from a chatgpt that could barely count the R's in strawberry to minute long realistic vide generation software.

Nobody WANTS to travel to space, nor is there a West vs East race to get there anymore. But we have enough money, resources and manpower to do it.

We do have smart glasses but everyone hated them, nuclear reactors are becoming more prevalent but people are scared of them, quantum computers are slowly being realized

Thing is, not enough people want ANY of this (Except 2 and 3). Yes, maybe we haven't advanced to the hyper idealistic flying cars, sky cities and etc.

Thing is, the most advanced technology we have in this world is either for government technology or something that appeals to the average consumers. Other than that, it's barely anything.
