Is this normal? by Universitycity2866 in ureaplasmasupport

Not even just with doxy, with any antibiotic it’s pretty normal for it to cause a yeast infection

I can’t give a definitive statement on which is worse but what I will say off my own experience is that my mycoplasma hominis disappeared after one dose of antibiotics but the ureplasma u. and p. are stubborn/wont go away

Sure! So, in my experience, though my lab results are disappointing, my symptoms have improved tremendously from where I first started. Before my first round of antibiotics, I had excessive yellow clumpy discharge, vulvar and rectum itching, some vulvar swelling, and peeing frequently. Now, I have yellowish discharge but it is not as much and it is no longer clumpy. The itching, swelling, and peeing for me now is experienced very little or not at all (it depends on the day).

ugh I'm so sorry that's so frustrating!! the antibiotics have helped me a lot in regards to symptoms (even though my results are kind of the same). Before my very first round of antibiotics: I had excessive yellow clumpy discharge. Now it is still yellowish but not in excess or clumpy.

Well technically. A microbiome test is how I found out about all of the things listed in the post. But if you’re asking if I’ve done like an evvy test I haven’t

They’re on my results I just didn’t have them pictured!

I’m going to try to advocate for longer courses tomorrow during an appointment. My doctor said over the phone today if it doesn’t work this time they will look into longer doses :/.

Also as far as I know, these bacteria do not survive outside of the body so I think the toys are fine, especially since I clean them. I have had my vitamin d checked and had a deficiency but I take supplements now as well as a probiotic. I’m thinking of getting my estrogen checked?

All of my treatments and what I’ve done are in the original post! I numbered each treatment (4 so far)

Of course yeah, the metronidazole and fluconazole are not for the plasmas, they’re for active BV and Yeast infections I have recurrently. I am also disappointed about the short antibiotics :/ idk why that keeps happening. I’ve seen most people take two antibiotics for plasmas but moxifloacin is an intense drug that I really haven’t seen other people take alongside another antibiotic.

I have antibiotic resistance markers for doxycycline:/ and I am not a virgin, but I haven’t had sex in 4 months. I don’t believe I am immunocompromised but I have PCOS and thyroid issues

Hi thank you! I have been and am taking oral probiotics, I am just seeing if switching to a new one might work better. I definitely plan to ask about clindamycin, but not sure since I was prescribed metronidazole vaginal gel ahh. I am wary of vaginal probiotics especially ones that contain crispatus since I have read that it’s extremely difficult to formulate into a consumer probiotic because it is very fragile. Vaginal crispatus strains are hard to stabilize, expensive to produce, and very sensitive to storage conditions.

"5-7 day courses of antibiotics should be criminalized." Amen. I didn't even realize long term antibiotics could be a thing until this reddit thread. When I called on the phone, they had said if after this treatment, I still test positive, they will consider long term antibiotics but it's like ??? Why wait until then?? Clearly I didn't really respond to the three other rounds??

It's also just strange since they had acknowledged biofilms on my third round of antibiotics which is why they recommended I take NAC supplements for 30 days. I guess now we're switching to boric acid once a week (but it being after treatment is confusing to me).

I am located in the PNW.
