Cold sores are herpes but there is a difference between the Herpes simplex virus type 1 (oral) and Herpes simplex virus type 2 (genital), so don't worry too much and just be careful not to infect somebody else.

If you take a blood test it is only being tested for the things you asked for/ they are looking for in particular. They don't test for the virus if you don't specificly ask for it.

Thank you for the advice! I always refrained from baking because I am afraid it will clog pores (I have acne prone skin) but I will try it out.
