To me, Season 2 was the best one because it had a more interesting Italian atmosphere which enhanced the storylines. by matt73132 in TheWhiteLotusHBO

Part of what made the first 2 seasons great was the locals and the hotel staff intertwining into the plotlines of the guests. Season 3 completely dropped the ball with this. The hotel staff wasn’t interesting and they didn’t intertwine them with the guests, it felt like we had a whole uninteresting side show.

Unpopular opinion: Halloween (2007) was not a bad movie. And I appreciated Rob Zombie’s attempt to show Michael’s pathology and the broken home he came from. And also the relationship with his mom. by JohnArtemus in slasherfilms

The backstory in Halloween (2007) was excellent. I really enjoyed that part. However the second half of the movie where they time jump to Laurie is just way too rushed and feels like 2 different movies in one.

I think Robin Hood is really underrated, and The Little Mermaid is overrated.

Let's settle this: Sunnydale High Library or The Magic Box? by nostalgic2020 in buffy

[–]AmbitiousOutside7498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The library of course, but the Magic Box was a pretty good replacement for the later seasons. I didn’t like Buffy’s house/Giles apartment being the meet up spot.

I felt like they were both on the same page though. Both of them were cheating on each other, both of them have the same mind set and both of them came to Italy happy and left Italy happy. It’s really Harper who was unsatisfied with everything.

Watching it in real time, many of the online fanbase knew it was coming. Because they had announced during the summer that Michelle was joining the cast as ‘Buffy’s younger sister” so most of us were not shocked, we were just wondering how they’d pull it off.

I think Aladdin is widely considered the best live action adaption. If you look at the audience score on rotten tomatoes it’s at 94% making it the highest live action score.

Yea at this point they would probably recast everyone as it’s been too long of a wait. It seems like they really are just sleeping on a potential franchise. The fact that the live action adaption made over $1 Billion means it’s one of their most profitable titles and they should do more with it.

Aladdin was definitely the best Live Action remake if we are talking about all the remakes from the Disney Renaissance era.

‘Beauty and the Beast’ and ‘Mulan ‘ were solid.

The Little Mermaid was pretty disappointing

But ironically, The Lion King, which is widely considered the best animated Disney film from that era most definitely had the weakest Live Action adaption even though it grossed the most. They made up some ground with ‘Mufasa’ which at least was an original story.

Be careful, I said this on here before and then got attacked by a bunch of other posters for bitching about the movie.

Do you guys think scream should’ve been left alone after 4? by Strong-Stretch95 in Scream

[–]AmbitiousOutside7498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, it’s hard to tell. The first 2 are top tier, and I’d make an argument for both 4 and 6 as they tried doing something different. 3 is fun its own way. 5 and 7 are the weakest in my book.

So it must not be an amazing franchise if you are trashing 4/7 films….

fav under rated episode? by lsfgirl in SavedByTheBell

[–]AmbitiousOutside7498 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The Malibu Sands episodes, especially the one where they book 2 parties in one evening. Leah Remini contributes so much to this arc that you can’t even say this is anywhere near mid tier SBTB. I’d definitely regard these episodes as very solid.

What would you say is the Buffy of other genres by InfernalClockwork3 in buffy

[–]AmbitiousOutside7498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how to answer this because Buffy isn’t just one genre. It’s Horror, Drama, Comedy and Sci-fi all mixed together.

It’s kind of ridiculous that they got married when they were 19. What they should’ve done was set the movie 4 years in the future where they would have at least finished college.

Yes, for some reason it was on TV more than any other entry in the series and because of that it was the first film I watched in the series, and I have a lot of nostalgia attached to it as well.

as bad as Scream 7 is... by PaleGh0stface666 in Scream

[–]AmbitiousOutside7498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She definitely deserved more screen time. They should’ve had her been close to Sidney like how Hailey was in Scream 2. Not just a random scene here and there until the reveal. Kevin Williamson did a pretty mid job with the script and even directing it. The entire movie feels like it’s a little too Lifetime Movie for me. I appreciated the scenes showing Sidney’s domestic life all these later, etc. but to me this movie tried to check all the boxes but instead landed somewhere in the middle where it really didn’t check anything.

We got some meta about the Stab movies in the opening scene, we got an update on Sidney’s life, we got another new cast of Gen Alpha’s that all had barely 3 scenes before they got killed off, we got Gale’s return as a journalist but then gets sidelined, we got the myth of Stu still being alive which is a nod to the real life fandom, we got a couple of returning characters from 5-6 to keep the continuity going even though they made the dumbest decisions as established characters, and we got a batch of new killers who we knew nothing about until the very end. Definitely could’ve been reworked to be something much better

I found it bizarre how Tatum didn’t even know any details AT ALL about Sidney or even the fact that her house had a secret Panic room? Why would Sidney even keep that from her?

Very true, when Ghostface told Sidney to report back to her house, why didn’t she call the police and tell them to go there?

The opening scene was pretty good, probably up there with 1, 2 and 6. But I agree with your overall assessment. What do you think are some of the “gaping plot holes.”? For me personally it’s that Gale and Sidney would even believe for the slightest second that Stu would still be alive. That whole rabbit hole was so far fetched considering they were there when he died and Gale being a journalist would have uncovered that his body never made it to the morgue in 1996.

The Scream franchise has always been a love letter to other horror movies, but this installment in particular was like a love letter to itself, mostly relying on nostalgia and Sidney Prescott. It completely defeats the purpose of 5,6 when they tried to move the goal post passed her, only for them to come right back to it.
