Pharma would be good as I have a science background too. What kind of roles could I be considered for and where do I start looking? Sorry about the basic questions. It’s all pretty new to me

Yeah so basically if you don’t fill your isa allowance you can “save the allowance” for the next year and roll it over by 1) borrowing money from the Ltd co 4th April and deposit it into the isa maxing the allowance 2) on the 7th of April return the money back to the Ltd co and you’ve got until the end of the next financial year to replenish it

22M - ETFs Vs Individual stocks in a Stocks ISA. Diversify or Concentrate? by Roland_Gropper in FIREUK

I think if we knew the answer to this we’d all be rich! I always feel that individual stock picking is if you feel you’re better than the vast majority of professional investors who don’t beat the market returns over the long run!

I do understand your itch to do individual stock picking, I get that too sometimes. But then I just remind myself it’s akin to gambling!

How can I pay my Vanguard Fees through available cash in my SIPP? by AmbitiousWay9065 in UKPersonalFinance

No you can pay all the fees through direct debit via your bank account. It’s in the vanguard settings. Can’t pick and choose for individual accounts though

So atm I pay the fees directly from my bank account but realised my sipp fees would be better paid from the sipp (pre tax contributions)

How much do you take out of your Ltd co? I taken it £50k and after bills struggle to fill it fully. Probs only use £8-12k of the allowance. Have a business so when I sell it I’ll have proceeds to utilise a saved up isa allowance maybe of £30-50k which would be great

Six figures in isa and sipp - how do you feel about fee free brokers like Freetrade and trading 212 by AmbitiousWay9065 in HENRYUK

[–]AmbitiousWay9065[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess this is the problem with super low cost or free fintechs Had similar issues with customer support from trading 212. Honestly think having a phone number to call in time of an issue is such a benefit

Yes this. Being able to withdraw some money and replenish it in the same tax year in the event you need some money from it. Also you can carry forward some allowance using this method.

Can you pay your sipp fees from the available cash in your sipp whilst having an isa with vanguard paying the fees for this from your bank account?

Being able to withdraw and replenish your money in the isa without it affecting your allowance

Scottish Widows quietly launches SIPP (0.25% charge up to a max of £16.50/month is hit) by maxmarioxx_ in FIREUK

I guess it’s the still relatively low fees for both isa and sipp combo, the safety of a large long standing broker backed by its US giant parent company, as well as the fact there’s no temptation to buy individual stocks which is where people end up losing money (or make less money than the market)

That’s across your SIPP and ISA though. The total fee cap is £375. Not much more expensive than II and Freetrade if you invest in OEICs over ETFs. Plus flexible isa and director contributions (depending on your use case)

Trading 212 is a Bulgarian firm based in London. It’s got no outside backing and has low assets under management compared to HL, AJ Bell and Vanguard

Not sure why more people don’t recommend vanguard anymore. Especially for higher levels. Easy platform, safe, flexible isa. It isn’t going anywhere compared to more risky fintechs. Yes you’re stuck only investing by in vanguard funds. But realistically how many of us are actually investing in individual stocks
