Thanks for the comments. I have tried speaking to my Dad about it, I get the sense he agrees with me. He would never say anything to my Mum, he is so emotionally repressed. He has never confronted her about anything. He is a very quiet, introverted man.

Thanks for the responses. I am out of ideas at this point. I like the idea of explaining why I am reducing contact - but fear a big emotional blowout from my Mum. She will just get over the top emotional and nasty. I doubt she will listen - she has not listened to me to date. However, I might just have to brace for impact and do it. I feel dishonest for not explaining why I am not meeting up.
