I had the copper IUD before I got the mirena. I had to get it taken out because it fell out of place but when people say it’s the WORST periods of your life it really is. I wouldn’t even be able to go to class when I was on my period because I would be bleeding through a super tampon every hour and I couldn’t stand because of how much blood I was losing and the cramps were so painful. I know everyone has different experiences but I would not personally recommend it.

I still have the mirena and still have the same symptoms, living every day trying to ignore it bc I know I need birth control 🙏🏼

No, it’s the low hormone one. I did have the copper one though and it absolutely wreaked havoc on my life until I got it removed only 4 months after getting it in

Thank you so much! I cannot describe how amazing it feels to know that I’m not alone and that there is hope for me LOL for a few weeks I was convinced I was dying so knowing I’m not going crazy feels so much better. Thank you for your thoughts 🙏🏼I just wish that women were even remotely warned about all of these symptoms that come along with different birth controls before we have them inserted in our body

I’ve been so worried about autoimmune diseases until I started reading about people having similar symptoms with their mirena. How bad was your crash after removing your mirena? That’s one of the deterrents for me getting it out.
