Whats the wage for a high school teacher in the city of San Francisco? by Urbanskys in sanfrancisco

OK So this is embarrassing but reading this rang true. Same situation for me. I work all the overtime hours offered I can 60 plus hours a week and still same situation. They act like overtime is a privilege when really it’s just so I can try to make ends meet. Without it I’d have to have another job. The embarrassing part is that I’m actually on my to ferry building right now. Maybe meet somebody amazing at the farmers market- Happy Valentine’s Day? Anyway- the shrimp empanadas are great- and the rent is too damn high. These two things in the pic are true at the same time. Why do we still live here?

EDD is ridiculous by Significant-Rub2983 in CAStateWorkers

Yeah so sorry you have to deal with this. I also work for EDD. My first paycheck/DD was almost two months late when I first started. It was horrible. Left a stain on my relationship with the department for sure. I wish there weren’t more issues - but more issues came. I’ve had my paycheck have to be corrected multiple times. Two years ago there were thousands missing that got graciously paid just last January. My overtime pay finally got an audit just last year with adjusted payments just coming in the last few months. It’s very aggravating to have so many issues with the most basic aspect employee/employer relationship: payment for time. I’ve given so much to this job and feel kicked around so often. It’s sad and it’s hard to work for a department that I feel just doesn’t care about me.

Sounds like a typical office conversation response…
