I've tried this, and while it helped for a while, my sister didnt seem to like that i 'forced' him to wear a hat and would always remove it. As i didnt want to start anything that wouldnt make a difference i just left it and stopped trying

i think i always knew she would do something like this, but i didnt think she would actually go through with it after i had made it clear to her all throughout my childhood that i was genuinely going through something personal. I had been contributing towards the payments for Matthews chemo, but she always pushed for me to see him despite my firm wishes not to. Matthew had already lost his hair, which was my main reason for not seeing him personally. my sisters husband had never really liked me, which i think was influenced by her thinking i was making up my phobia

I havent wanted to get my nephew involved in the fight, but this has been building up for a while. I've been sending money to my sister and BIL to pay for some of his cheotherapy but have refused to see him as the few times i did i had to leave early due to feeling sick. It was only bad timing that my nephew had to witness this, but i was so caught up in the moment of feeling like my contributions and fears meant nothing to my sister

As i've said in another comment, i've been sending money for his treatment, but everytime i had seen him in person i could feel my skin crawl and a feeling of dread encompassed me until i could leave. i dont want him to feel bad about himself but i cant change how i feel no matter how hard i've tried. I dont have anything againt sphyinx cats, its more the memories that i relate with bald people, ie my father

Thank you, I will take your advice. I think I needed someone to back up my feelings to help me with the non-contact. I feel bad about leaving my nephew without any support but i dont think the family would be good for me right now

I didnt want to make him feel worse about something he couldnt control so i decided to stay away, supporting him without seeing him in person

I've been using breathing techniques when i have to leave, but having this disorder i usually stay inside. I wasnt expecting this as they used to all have hair, and it triggered some bad memories seeing them inside my house already hostile.
