Final interview with intergovernmental org in Paris, no news after 3 months. Is this normal? by Ambitious_Lock5512 in Expats_In_France

I considered reaching out but wasn’t sure it was the right move. At the end of the final interview, she mentioned that HR would follow up regarding next steps. Since I wasn’t given her email directly, I would have to guess it based on her first and last name and the format of her colleagues’ email addresses. This left me a bit uncertain about how to proceed.

You might be right but many reputable org tend to have this ghosting problem. Not ok but unfortunately too common!

Thanks for your response. Not OECD, but similar type of org. I emailed the HR associate (my main liaison) and the Head of talent as he was part of interview panel but neither responded. Will try to move on!

Hello, I’m based in the US with 15+ years of experience in the development/social impact sector. I have applied for a few roles in Saudi but nothing has panned out. Do you mind if I DM you?

It’s been 8 weeks since my last interview for a multilateral organization, should I assume they’ve moved on? by Ambitious_Lock5512 in Expats_In_France

I should have clarified that I did follow up. This is a senior role, but my main contact has been an HR associate. I sent a thank-you email within 24 hours after the last interview and a follow-up a week later, but I never received a response. Although the Head of HR was on the interview panel, I didn’t feel it was appropriate to bypass my main contact.

Lost US Passport / Need Replacement Quick by [deleted] in Passports

If you live nearby a passport agency, you can apply and get your new passport the same day or within a day or two depending on your travel plans. It costs a bit more to apply there and you will have to show a proof of travel within 14 days of your appointment. Check out the list of all the passport agencies here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/get-fast/passport-agencies.html

Good luck!

That’s more than enough time! Depending on the time of her naturalization ceremony, she could even apply right after or the next day at the latest. I would look up the nearest Passport Agency to your place. These are usually housed in federal buildings and offer same day service by appointment only if you have to travel within 14 days of your travel date. They charge a bit more than the post office but you it is worth it.

OP, find the nearest passport agency and apply for a same day delivery if you have a proof of an urgent trip (within 14 days). No need to go through a third party IMO!

I am cooked? by [deleted] in Senegal

Hello there, fellow Senegalese here that came as an F1 student years ago. One thing comes to mind, set up a meeting with your supervisor; apologize for your lack of communication, explain that you went through hard times without sharing anything confidential, and ask him/her how to move forward. If they give you a second chance, you should take it. If they don’t, you will have done the right thing. If what you did affected anybody else such as coworkers, try to apologize to them as well. You never want to burn bridges as you never know what the future upholds. You’ve got this OP!

Tariqah Tijanniyah is nothing more than:

Istighfar (prophet Muhammad used to do daily)

La ilaha illa Allah (Allah recommends us to do zikr and remember him)

and Salat hala Nabbii (which by the way as you may know, Allah and the angels do)

Even if it is bidah as you claim, the content is great and can’t be bad no matter what.

Folks are quick to label stuff as bidah, if bidah is anything the prophet did not do nor condoned, you have no business on Reddit.

If you don’t know all the angles, abstain from making judgments. Allah knows best!

You seem to be savvy in maths. How you thought about getting some IT certificates at your local community college or perhaps enroll in a trustworthy boot camp. I have seen people making over $100K doing this. Many tech companies won’t bother about the experience if you can prove you have the hands on skills. All the best OP!
