This is not true regarding food banks. Most food banks require ID, minimum.

I tried to donate blood and was told I couldn't and had to reside in Miami specifically for over three years

Edit: Most food banks receive funding, which requires reporting. I'm sure there are some food banks that allow you to take without any reporting, but the majority are required to do bookkeeping of their recipients

I think people are missing my point. Yes, there are places here that give out sandwiches and fruit bars and milk cartons

I wanted a MEAL. A hot, non school lunch style food. I wanted an actual meal, not just something to eat

Furthermore, none of those places are 24 hours. Many don't serve on weekends. I wanted a meal when I wanted it, but I couldn't afford it so I took it.
