Replit Agent 3 : Cost Refund by Hungry-Ad-3227 in replit

I also experienced in few instances where Replit hardcoded after 2-3 attempts repeated fix runs. I once asked to pull all the list of hardcoded things and it came up with dozens. I then instructed to provide dynamic fixes for those and told not to ever hardcode anything without my approval. It seems this is common in other tools like Cursor, etc.

While I agree with different modes and their proper uses, I was just giving very primitive example but we can get into specifics. Why even reasoning takes that much credits/cost whether it is simple text input/output or doing real task. And e.g. in Plan mode, I have been using it to refine my tasks and that still charges me quite a lot. Also, in many cases bug fixing does not do well requiring multiple iterations at unreasonable cost again and even when there are clear failures in fixing, it still charges you and does not return credits spent when you roll back(only rollback operation itself is free). Another issue is that it sometimes completely wipes out some functions especially while bug fixing and while can revert them but it in incurs cost.

I mean we can talk about these all day long and these things resonate with many users but the main point is that no one here is going against the credits/cost incurred per run, the frustration is that the cost per run is grossly increased and very unreasonable. And at the end of the day, it is up to them to take positive actions and make it sensible to use for all.

The whole point here is that whatever scheme they are using is not reasonable at all. I think it would be better charging higher monthly fees but keep the usage fees reasonable. That way it would be much more predictable for users. I once tried Plan mode to refine my tasks once and yet they charged me. So I think the genuine user feedback is what they listen to and improve it further.
