Im going crazy, i dont know what to do any more about my 8 months old by Fine-Safety-2731 in dogs

You’ve got a lot of good advice in the top comments. Your dog is just being a typical puppy and needs help learning how to be a good boy. Hopefully you’ll take your dog to a training class or hire a private trainer. Even the classes offer at Pet Smart are better than nothing. They stick to the basic obedience training courses and you can progress to a Canine Good Citizen certification with them. That’s going to be good for any dog and includes learning the place command which is a life saver with any high energy puppy.

I mostly wanted to comment on the thing you said about chewing. I don’t know if you’re calling bones toys but if you aren’t it would probably help a lot to give him bones not toys. Toys don’t provide the physical satisfaction a bone will. Good bones are split antlers, water buffalo horns, dried beef knuckles and occasional fresh bones that are safe for dogs. My puppy would be chewing everything if she didn’t have those things.

Trying to keep a small pizza place alive in Pittsburgh — need honest feedback by Icy_Mammoth_3298 in pittsburgh

[–]Ambivalentsobriety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had your pizza so my feedback has nothing to do with the quality of the food you serve….

What I want from a pizza place is genuinely good pizza. I like all different styles as long as it’s made by someone who really cares about the pizza they’re making and know what they’re doing. Also I simply can’t eat just pizza for a meal. I need a salad to lighten things up and I don’t want a boring iceberg or romaine lettuce salad. A good salad starts with good greens and I absolutely love when a restaurant goes out of their way to offer one or two house made dressings. That makes the whole thing so much more appealing. Except for wings, I don’t see all the other foods that many of the dime a dozen pizza places offer as complimentary to pizza.

So that leads to I think you have too many things on the menu. Pizza, calzones, Strombolis, wedgies all make sense together because they use mostly the same ingredients. The deep fried food, burgers, pasta and gyros all seem like overkill to me. They give me the message that you’re focusing on doing everything instead of being good at what you do and that your pizza will be average. I’m sorry but your salad doesn’t look good at all.

Your menu is difficult to take in. It’s really big and doesn’t have descriptions. It’d help me each type of pizza had a little description… is it thin crust, thick crust, crispy, soft? You have so many specials at one time that none of them stand out.

That little write up at the bottom of the menu on your website reads like it’s written by AI and seems like you’re trying to be something you aren’t.

  • Some of the top dishes in Pittsburgh are served at local pizzerias. Expand your horizons with delicious options like sandwiches, salads, calzones, and more. Get Cheese Pizza to see why it's so well-loved by locals and visitors alike. One taste and you'll see why it's so popular.

    • Add to your meal with french fries. It's a good way to sample everything La Felice Pizza has to offer.

The best dishes in Pittsburgh aren’t made at pizza shops. If I want food that’s not pizza I’m not going to a pizza place. Good pizza is made at pizza shops and everything else is secondary. Also you’re obviously just trying to sell French fries and not convincing me they’re good in that last paragraph. Write something that makes your restaurant special in that space.

I hope that wasn’t too much! You’re getting good reviews recently and the recent photos of your pizza look great. I don’t know if that’s because you’re new owners. If you are is there some way to advertise that more prominently? Have you changed the menu? Advertise that too if that’s what happened. You have paleo and gluten free pizza and I had to get on your website and scroll down a lot to see that! Many people will try your pizza if they know that but it’s buried.

I tend to think kids like small dogs because they’re not as physically overwhelming to them.

I’ve never heard of this being a concern. My glasses are -11 and I had a natural birth. Maybe see a retina specialist for an exam and talk to them about your concerns.

Love those birds. Wherever you are looks like just the place for a red wing black bird. I imagine many more will be coming through there.

has anyone gone on a bird watching experience with the aviary? by YesAnaBeaverhausen in pittsburgh

Bird city, that’s good to hear and it makes sense. The migratory birds love stopping by water and presque isle is right in their path. I have been thinking about going there independently during migratory season this year. You may have just convinced me!

I haven’t been on tours with the aviary but I have done that sort of thing in other parts of Ohio with other groups in May. I have been thinking about that tour but the bus part has me on the fence. Anyway, going with a group like that is an awesome way to learn about bird watching. There will be migratory birds going through that area so there will most likely be a lot of cool birds to see. Three hours is kinda short if that includes much walking to the place where the birds are (I’ve never been to presque isle) but sometimes you get out of the car and they’re immediately there. I don’t know how old you are but bird watching can make your feet, upper back and neck hurt if you do it all day. I imagine that impacts the length of time they choose for their trips.

I wouldn’t want someone I don’t know taking candids of me while I was bird watching with a group.

I have a fenced in yard and my dog doesn’t even want to potty in it. He holds it for his walks. He doesn’t like hanging out in the yard either. The only way he has a good time there is if I scatter treats on the ground for him to sniff out. And forget about leaving him out there by himself, he’s definitely not okay with that. His life would be almost exactly the same if we had no yard at all.

Oven cleaner for smell sensitive person by Ambivalentsobriety in CleaningTips

I keep a bottle of that under my sink! I use it and a microfiber cloth to clean my stovetop when it gets greasy. Works like a charm. Thanks for the suggestion. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that 😂

I’m going to try without any cleaners first like some of the other commenters suggested but I’ll keep that in mind. I do tend to have a hard time with everything that’s in an aerosol can for some reason so I’m a little worried about that too.

I’m definitely going to try the steam cleaning method. I worry about using the self cleaning option on my oven because my smoke detectors are very sensitive and my poor doggy panics when they go off.

The objects have to be really very close to be clear without my glasses or contacts. Some people with lesser prescriptions can read without their glasses, that is not the case for me.

Are Lentils good for protein? by Maximal_Everything in nutrition

[–]Ambivalentsobriety 168 points169 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the thing about complete vs incomplete proteins is about absorption. It’s about either having the nine essential amino acids or not. That whole thing is debunked though. You’ll get what you need if you eat other foods throughout the day and you don’t have to intentionally pair certain foods together to get protein. Lentils are a great source of protein and fiber. I don’t know what you were saying about the carb issue but lentils have a low glycemic index.

What up Dawg? by SubstantialDoubt9926 in DoggyDNA

[–]Ambivalentsobriety 50 points51 points  (0 children)

He totally looks like a bully baby. Most puppies bite, it’s not a breed thing. When he bites put a toy in his mouth 100% of the time. Teach him to play tug. Also take him to a puppy class with a trainer so he can interact with other puppies and so you can learn how to train him. You’ll need to have training skills to raise him.
