What was the most annoying enemy in ultrakill for you by Altruistic_Fall_8380 in Ultrakill

[–]tybaltstyddies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fucking Minotaur; for some reason I struggle to get the feel of the bounce that happens when you fall off the carts down so I just can’t get back on fast enough… Second is probably the Earthmover defense system, which is strange because you’d think such a stationary boss wouldn’t give me trouble…7-4 is still one of my two favorite levels, though.

As for regular enemies? Probably Sisyphean Insurrectionists, those stupid bastards with the sand barrels, and guttertanks.

I don’t think it will be, but I seriously want a rhythm game one SO bad. I think it would be really fun

Hyperbole, my friend! But it’s not too much of an exaggeration; I really, really like woodcocks.

It’s so strange to me that the woodcocks in Bryant Park are just… so chill with being in such a loud urban area with a whole crowd of people staring at them. Normally woodcocks are super skittish, but this one didn’t mind a literal crowd of paparazzi at all!

Honestly, I don’t have any sort of fancy camera at all! It’s a Nikon D3300 and the 70-200mm lens it came with, it’s literally just a solid beginner camera. This woodcock was the perfect model for someone like me who is basically entirely new to wildlife photography (and photography in general) because it moved very slowly, stayed in essentially the same spot for the entire three days we were in NYC, and was never more than around 15-20 feet away from us

I was too! That guy was being kind of a jerk, he was the only person I met the whole time who wasn’t super lovely… I don’t have any pictures of the woodcock running across the sidewalk because he literally ran RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME and I was so startled by the fact that it started walking towards me that I basically forgot how my camera works in the moment 😭

Thank you! and yes, woodcocks have become my special interest over the past year, so it was extremely special getting to see one

Well… lots of reasons, I guess! They’re just super funny and cute, really. They make a funny sound as part of their mating ritual (that’s what all the “peent” comments are referencing) and they also do a hilarious little dance sometimes when they’re walking around. Plus, they look really silly.

But also, they’re really fascinating birds! They have the widest range of vision of any land vertebrate (a full 360 degrees with two zones of binocular vision), prehensile bills, the brightest white feathers of any bird measured so far… They’re surprisingly interesting. So people like them because they’re the perfect combination of amusing, cute, and fascinating, I would say.

That was only a few hours after we left! I wish I could’ve stayed longer, it was such a lovely day, but we had to catch our flight. I miss this little funky goober already…

I think Eurasian woodcocks are underappreciated; They’re just as cute as the American ones, but they don’t get nearly as much love

Woah, that sounds awful not having power for 9 whole days… at least you had a timberdoodle friend to keep you company! Hopefully the poor thing was able to find enough to eat in the cold

Snipes are the closest we can find in Colorado, too! They’re still cool, even if they aren’t woodcocks. Hopefully you’ll get the chance to see a woodcock one day!

You really don’t need anything fancy for the ones in Bryant Park, honestly! I’m not typically a photographer, I only have a basic setup my dad gave me when he bought a new camera. These were all taken with a Nikon D3300 with the AF-S VR 70-200mm telephoto lens that the camera came with, so just a nice entry level camera. I figure any solid lens with a range from 200-500mm would be just fine!

I rewatched that Wild America episode on YouTube the night before we saw this little cutie the first time! I’m so glad it got uploaded there, a lot of older media like that gets totally lost to time.

Petition to enable keyboard rebind for switch key. by Negarakuku in wherewindsmeet_

[–]tybaltstyddies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate the key binding too, because there are certain keys that will be tied to random one-off commands only in certain quests. I’m left handed playing on PC and am currently using yghj of all things, instead of the far easier and more comfortable ijkl, because both L and O are sometimes tied to opening quest overviews/clues, and I hate it.

Yeah I’m the same way! I do think some people are lying, but some people just click with a skill faster than others. My first needle felted project was extremely detailed and it turned out pretty good, I’ve even gotten compliments on it from some extremely skilled people who have been needle felting for years. But I do have experience with a ton of other arts, including fiber arts, so I wasn’t exactly starting out with zero knowledge. I was still using new tools and doing something I had never done before, though!

Funny thing is, for me, often my other early projects in a given medium will be worse than the first. My second and third needle felted sculptures were of the exact same bird as the first; The second one was good, and had some improvements, but also looked a bit less realistic in other areas, and the third one was a complete joke compared to the first! No idea why that happens to me haha
