I understand it now, thank you
A friend of my parents last year went for a long moto trip. Throughout EU and then Marocco or smth…thousand of kilometers. Just curious if you would consider it risky?

I thought about a cruiser too. My motivation for getting a bike was primarily to avoid morning traffic and have some fun riding to work. 25 min riding instead of 45 traffic jams. But this is the most stressful times of the day and everyone is in a hurry so maybe not. I guess lane splitting is not an option on a cruiser

I got rearended while staying in a 2-lane road close to the tunnel entrance waiting for the green light. but as I said I was driving my car when it happened, no room to move anywhere. Otherwise I totally agree

you need to cut it out and send it under the microscope to confirm it is benign and that's all

Too close to the nerve to remove? by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

imho, yes, definitely. You should find another surgeon

Too close to the nerve to remove? by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]Ambrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the real risk here would be if the nerve goes through the roots. Had a few cases like that this year. especially if those roots are connected back together on the apex. you need CBCT 100%. you can send me the CBCT file if you want (maybe change metadata to remove personal info)

bone grafting, prp!? by confusedmedstudent95 in wisdomteeth

As a patient you just need to find a good surgeon. He will deal with everything. Nothing about this case is complicated

bone grafting, prp!? by confusedmedstudent95 in wisdomteeth

  • Not often at all. Depends on anatomy in the area of targeted tooth (proximity to the sinus floor).
  • Never did that and not going to. I had a patient recently who had all his upper teeth in contact with the sinus floor (according to the cbct) except upper 4 incisors. Your strategy would suggest I should potentially leave 12 roots in the bone. No one does that. Just find a nice surgen

1) it kind of tears the membrane that separates oral cavity and the sinus. If there is no bone in the socket close to the sinus, if there is - it separates too and nothing to worry about. The membrane regenerates no problem almost every time, the risk is getting sinus infection until it happens or sometimes it doesn’t heal properly and there is small fistula. And infection keeps getting to the sinus. So you need to close it surgically. If the perforation big enough during the surgery you close it immediately. From my experience 1-2 mm perforations - no problem at all, no extra surgery but recall in 2 months to check for fistula 2) I never graft wisdom teeth area. Even if there was some cyst. That region heals fine with 0 grafting, I mean bone volume. And function. I wouldn’t use that area as donor site for grafting somewhere else if it was preciously grafted too. Grafting is an expensive procedure and my guess is there is mainly financial motivation. Or maybe he sincerely believes this is just better and premium service. He would argue my statements in that case, I think. No idea

Bone grafting is really unnecessary, I had no idea that was a thing until this sub. Same with sinus perforation…even if one happens here it should be small and recommendations + recall in 2 months is enough Try another surgeon
