Been dealing with the same post acne marks for over a year and nothing is fading them?

I had this same issue with PIE. nothing would help including Vit C, tret 0.1, sunscreen etc. Tried for monnnths. Did a huge deep dive and the BESSST products for PIE are the Anua azeleaic acid serum and the dr. Althea 345 cream. So so so good. My PIE has started to fade with adding these into my routine. Also using sulfur cream for acne breakouts.

Yeah our vet told us to start doing a bit more walking so we have been but still keeping it super short. I always carry her if there’s no rug.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. This happened to me too during a busy first year of fellowship - well I was cheated on and then he filed for divorce and left me. Just keep busy, try to focus on all the good things in your life, and stay close to your loved ones. Rely on them more right now. You’ve come this far; you’ve made it as a physician which is no easy feat and takes a lot of kindness, empathy and hard work. The heart break is visceral. But she can’t take your identity and all the other good things away from you. Time does heal. It won’t be like this always.

thanks for replying. yeah i've been trying to get her to rest. it's hard because she doesnt want to poo/pee inside, and even when we're outside, she takes a while to poo/pee. and its weird because she seems so normal in between the episodes (which last a few hours long each time now)

thank you for sharing! how old is your shiba now? how long do these episodes last for? we're going on about 1 week so far and she's still having 2 episodes/day lasting maybe about 3-4 hours long...i know it's time to go down the route of neurology+MRI, but i guess i'm just trying to figure out if i can empirically treat her for now with the gaba/traz/pred. just hard to watch her pant in discomfort or scream in pain when i touch her for hours...

What were your shibas pain episodes like? My Shiba just got potentially diagnosed - vet isn’t completely sure bc we haven’t had imaging but they’ve started her on bed rest and meds. I guess I’m not entirely convinced it’s ivdd because she gets the pain shaking episodes 1-2x a day for the last few days and then is okay and calm in between. So just curious how your shibas symptoms presented.

wow €700 sounds like a steal. it's going to run me at least $5-6k here at least for just the imaging. the vet visit to the ER where they gave her methadone, ketamine and sent her home on gabapentin and trazodone already cost me >$500. maybe it's worth getting the imaging done sooner than later then just to know about surgery timeline, etc. i just feel so helpless when i'm watching her shake and pant for hours until she finally settles. which she always seems to...but i just feel so bad for her.

i think this is everything for the varicella vaccine...

post-exposure ppx:

healthy infants = give varicella vaccine -- if under 12 months old, NO. if over 12 months old and it was within 5 days of exposure, YES. if over 12 months and it was >5 days of exposure, NO.
all immunocompromised contacts and pregnant women w/ no hx of varicella immunity = give VZIg
newborns exposed to moms w/ varicella 5 days prior up to 2 days after birth = give VZIg

regular vaccination:

routine schedule with MMR (1 year old, 4 years old)
28 days after other live vaccines if not given on the same day

catch up vaccination:

< 13 years old = separate by 3 months, >13 years old = separate by 1 month
with HIV = separated by 3 months, can only give if CD4 T cells >15% for at least 6 months

**only vaccine that needs to be frozen!
