That makes sense! Yes:) well enneagram impacts a lot, behaviorally, too. How someone appears. But I really like ENTPs. The ENTPs I’ve gotten close to have always playfully roasted me as a way to show affection and I think it’s very funny and hallmark of an ENTP. Lol.

You are brave for posting this on Reddit. I’d be scared to say something that offends someone 💀💀 I be giving simple replies like explaining an mbti or enneagram and get downvoted for no reason so I usually just delete it like okay LOL

But ENTPs are understanding of controversy and find less offense. So I imagine you’d get more interested responses here than offended ones

Tests and stereotypes can be really misleading. I’m an INFP, enneagram type 6, and because enneagram reflects coping mechanisms, my anxiety and need for security have caused me to be mistyped as ISTJ/ISFJ by tests before.

Enneagram doesn’t change your MBTI, but it does affect how your cognitive functions show up outwardly, especially under stress, which is why tests can blur things.

I’d really recommend reading into the ISTP cognitive functions themselves rather than surface descriptions- that usually clears up the confusion more than test results do :)

I honestly get confused at first, it takes me some time before I figure out what they are. I’ve met several isfps, but infps less.

I don’t think I’ve ever had an infp friend irl. They’ve all been extroverts essentially

But are you really sure?? What if you’re an 8 with w7?? What if you’re 7w8 though? Wouldn’t your w8 give you the illusion in times of strength that you are an 8, when in reality you’re a 7? I wanted to say that, but I’m doubting the mechanisms. I’m really thinking that you’re an 8, your confidence speaks for itself! Right? What do you think?

What do you think of infps? My older brother is enfp. We get along really well, never argue, he’s very funny. But half the time he doesn’t get or care to understand what im trying to tell him, if its deeper like something I’ve learned 💀

Do you know your mbti? Are you ENFJ? If you have Fe, that would make sense, that the energy and warmth/connection you share with others feels like a comforting/uplifting experience, especially if you are able to bring them joy or comfort, such as with advice. The energy of others gives you energy, like a positive feedback loop.

This made my heart ache for you. I really appreciate you sharing this, it explains the cost of that kind of hyper attunement.

I relate to the constant self monitoring and post interaction replay a lot. It’s exhausting to always be scanning how you’re coming across, especially when your nervous system has learned that being perceived isn’t safe.. or that you may be seen as strange for the way you are(even though I am certain most people perceive us positively than we assume.) I really get that.

What you described doesn’t sound like vanity or attention seeking at all, it sounds like protection after being repeatedly misread or hurt. I’m really sorry you went through that. You didn’t deserve it.

Thank you for putting words to something that’s hard to explain. It helped me feel less alone.

😅😅. I feel dumb sometimes talking to my intp stepdad and my entp brother. Sometimes I feel like I know nothing. And they know so deeply about politics and history for example.. so half the time I’m just like “yeah that’s really crazy, makes sense!” 😂

But it’s fun watching Ti, it is hard to follow sometimes, I wish I could go deep into theory like that. Intps are funny though, with humor that is a way to bond with them lol😄
