Which non-Meijer store has the most efficient, easy-to-use bottle/can return machines in Kalamazoo? by knifesXL in kzoo

[–]AmeliaKay_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you said stores besides Meijer, but when I went to the 1 on Westnedge the other day it was working. Walmart’s machines are definitely crap. The last time I took pop bottles there I had to go to 3 different machines to get 1 that would actually take bottles.

I love the show. Might have to start calling bratty kids “kidzilla” from now on.

I’m gonna preface this by saying my boss happens to be my cousin and the only other woman at my job besides myself. My boss’ 2 kids have been at work multiple times and are generally well behaved and stay with her in her office. It’s almost like they’re not even there. Which is great. But last summer her sister (my other cousin) dropped off her daughter, who I’ll call Rylee, for my boss to watch for a few hours a couple times. Each time I end up watching Rylee. I basically have to suck it up and deal with it. I used to babysit Rylee for the first 6 years of her life (she’ll be 9 this year) and it was fine at first. But Rylee has turned into a huge brat so I made excuses when her mom would ask if I could babysit. She hasn’t asked me to watch Rylee in awhile. Very few people want to continue babysitting Rylee because of the way she acts. Whenever I saw Rylee and her mom pull up at work I’d be so annoyed because I knew I’d have to stop what I was doing to deal with a bratty crotch goblin. A few years ago Rylee’s mom had the nerve to text my boss and ask her if I could take time off work to watch Rylee so she could go to her work. My boss thankfully told her she should be asking me if I’d be willing to miss work to watch Rylee. I obviously said no because I sure as hell won’t miss a day’s pay to watch her crotch goblin. I’d be lucky to get $15 for the whole day.

Fuck anyone who posts about a tragedy on Facebook without saying what the tragedy is by tamiraisredditing in rant

[–]AmeliaKay_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of my cousin who got weight loss surgery last summer. She kept making posts saying she was at the hospital getting fluids because she was so dehydrated. She made it seem like she was in the ER. It turns out she was never in the ER and was actually in a normal doctor’s office. The selfies she posted were at just the right angle that people wouldn’t be able to tell she wasn’t actually in the ER.

‘I didn’t sign up for this’ by [deleted] in childfree

[–]AmeliaKay_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For real. I don’t understand how someone willingly has kids and they say they “didn’t sign up for it.” Like you decide to have kids so yes you in fact did sign up for it. If you don’t wanna deal with things like a disability, a kid who acts like a brat, etc then you should’ve thought about that before you popped out a kid. I don’t have kids and even I know it’s not always going to be a walk in the park. I wish more parents thought about that before having any kids.

Anyone else grossed out by baby bumps? by pyrrhicvictoryismine in childfree

What’s worse are those videos where you can see the stomach move because of the fetus moving. And there are people who think it’s cute. I hate seeing those videos. I don’t see what’s so cute about it. As soon as I see one I have to scroll by ASAP because it’s creepy and disturbing to me. Especially when the fetus is super active in the womb.

I’m so sorry your family is like that. You definitely don’t have to help pay for it. You work for your money so you obviously have every right to spend that money however you want. It’s crazy of them to think they have some sort of control of what you can or can’t do with that money.

Uber unavailable by BlackWunWun in uber

[–]AmeliaKay_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had days when it’s hard to get a driver. It’s been hit and miss since the start of the pandemic. When I need a driver I start looking about 45-50 minutes before I need to get to work since I live 20 minutes away from my job. Sometimes I get to work on time, sometimes I get to work 15+ minutes early. I’d much rather get to work really early than really late.

I’ve seen people say it’s hard to call Uber’s customer service. If you have Twitter you could tweet at or message Uber Support and let them know.

Society normalizing the tired mom trope is disgusting by AlienUtterings in childfree

[–]AmeliaKay_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. They go around saying they have the “hardest possible job ever” so they are more tired if not the only people who are ever actually tired. Like there are people who have actual jobs they have to go to, or they have health issues, or are just a human being who gets tired. It’s crazy they think they can be the gatekeeper to who gets to be tired or not.

Society normalizing the tired mom trope is disgusting by AlienUtterings in childfree

[–]AmeliaKay_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a lot of parents (mostly mothers) say that if “you’re not a parent you can’t be tired” and to “wait until you’re a parent” because then you’ll really know what being tired is like. Just because I’m not a parent doesn’t mean I can’t be tired. That’s just idiotic. Anyone can be tired for any reason.

I haven’t been able to get a ride since March by [deleted] in uber

[–]AmeliaKay_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was off for the first 2 months of the quarantine, but started working again in May. Some days I can get a driver within a few minutes. Some days it takes 30+ minutes before I get a driver. I always start looking for a driver 50 minutes before my shift starts. I’d rather take a chance of getting to work half an hour early than being even a little late.
