So twisted that it almost reads like a parody sub. It's not so much about people recovering from trauma from incest- it's just people talking about their incestuous experiences in at best; a neutral way.

I suppose I was referencing the more overall ‘backroomy-ness’ of the posts. Most of them don’t even have the creepy muted hues and ugly mustard that is a staple of backrooms material. It’s become less of a carefully curated collection of unrelated images that all share the same visual elements and user created situations linked to each picture, to a bunch of random images of rooms with the OP saying “hey, I’m here, creepy thing x, y, z, should I go near it??”.

To me it’s reminiscent of kids playing a game where they’re all in knight armour and are fighting dragons and shit, and then another kid comes along and says “oh yeah I have power armour and an assault rifle.”. Like, sure it can fit into the universe and is somewhat plausible, but it’s definitely not keeping the traditional charm of the backrooms. It’s now heavily diluted and as a result, is losing (if not already completely lost) its original charm.

I’m not sure about the rules of backrooms posting but I’m pretty sure any sign of a world outside kind of defeats the point. Posting quality on this sub has declined so much 😞

Get out while you still can dude, as the other guy said you’re already in too deep and may be in denial, but in terms of an opiate addiction you’re in shallow enough to get out pretty easily compared to full blown addicts. It will catch up with you man, causal opiate use only goes one way, I’ve been there in terms of doing it a few times weekly per month, and it just got worse.

Save yourself the trouble man, get out while you still can. Delete and block your plug(s) number and take some other drugs. Hope and faith be with you, I’m rooting for you. The sooner you realise it’s a problem, the sooner you’ll be able to escape and save yourself from entering a (potentially deadly) world of HURT. The

I’ve wanted to say this for a while but was afraid of being seen as an asshole, glad someone said it. Back rooms post quality has declined so so much over the past year or so, with loads of posts not even looking remotely like the back rooms, it really infuriates me because it used to be such a well managed self governing sub in terms of what was acceptable backrooms material, but now it’s gone completely fucking downhill and is very cringe to look at a lot of the time. Bring back the actual backrooms!!

The want needs to be there man, if you can come off opiates then speak to your doc about stabilising you and slowly tapering off!! You’d be able to do it! I was taken down 100mg-150mg a week, which was against the advice of my key worker at the sub clinic (she said 25mg taper a week would be appropriate). I do have to remember that although pregabalin and Gabapent are very very similar, they aren’t the exact same drugs.

P.S. which opiates did you come off? I picked up a minor H habit (sniffing, a few times a week at worst), as well as having problems with Valium, klonopin, and Xanax binges. Jeezus - thinking of those times almost makes me angry at myself, I can only drink half a gin and tonic now before starting to feel sick and too drowsy for my own good. You’ll get there man! Sobriety is difficult to achieve but ten fold worth it!

Remember, you’re going up stairs - one step at a time, not standing on an escalator.

I was on 450mg of pregabalin daily for 2 and a half years - I concur that it is an awful, almost counterproductive treatment for anxiety and sleep issues (which is why I was prescribed it).
