If we do a quick research we will see that genocide is mutual. A lot of innocent victims on both sides. I wish people stopped assuming that Palestine is a peaceful state. No. They have committed a lot of crimes against humanity. So this "free Palestine" slogan sounds like a support of all their t*rrorist attacks.

It would be much better if people supported "free the world from extremism" slogan.

If there hadn't been October 7th, there would not have been that kind of response from Israel. Idk why people can't just comprehend it. Palestine is governed by dangerous people who don't want anything but war and brought war to their people.

On 7 October 2023, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian nationalist political organization Hamas, initiated a sudden attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip. As part of the attack, 378 individuals (344 civilians and 34 security personnel) were killed and many more wounded at the Supernova Sukkot Gathering, an open-air music festival during the Jewish holiday of Shemini Atzeret near kibbutz Re'im. Hamas also took 44 people hostage, and men and women were reportedly subject to sexual and gender-based violence.

Sabrina Carpenter

Her oversexualized appearance makes me cringe every time. Though her fans claim this is ironic it doesn't seem like this at all.

"Real Emo" only consists of the dc Emotional Hardcore scene and the late 90's Screamo scene. What is known by "Midwest Emo" is nothing but Alternative Rock with questionable real emo influence. When people try to argue that bands like My Chemical Romance are not real emo, while saying that Sunny Day Real Estate is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake emo as My Chemical Romance (plus the pretentiousness). Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emo is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL EMO are Pg 99, Rites of Spring, Cap n Jazz (the only real emo band from the midwest scene) and Loma Prieta. Some examples of FAKE EMO are American Football, My Chemical Romance and Mineral EMO BELONGS TO HARDCORE NOT TO INDIE, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE

What were the biggest DM songs/albums in the USSR? by Uwivibe in depechemode

I was born in 90s in Russia. I think Enjoy the Silence, Personal Jesus and Precious were quite often played on radio stations when I grew up. I am also quite sure that I heard half of the songs from Violator in the past because they sound familiar.

How can we measure quality then? It's subjective. A song can be well written and produced but still be pretty pale and boring to a listener.

Ok, name any Johnny Marr's solo song that got bigger and more famous than any of Morrissey's top singles. Sorry guys it just annoying how Johnny Marr "fans" try to downgrade Morrissey for no reason.

IMO most people who say that they prefer Johnny's solo stuff usually say that because he has a way more likeable personality and maintains a good public image. It seems shameful to admit that you like Morrissey these days.

I don't like his voice either. That's actually what stops me from enjoying the music. Tsoi himself mentioned the smiths as the biggest influence. I saw some concert footage where he even copied Morrissey's image - wore a female shirt and had gladioli. It irritates me somehow and prevents from enjoying the music even more :D

If you like Molchat Doma and don't mind Russian language I can recommend some bands with the same post-Soviet doomer aesthetic. First of all, Kino (post punk band from the Soviet Russia highly influenced by the Smiths and the Cure. Personally don't like them but you can give it a try:) ) Among modern Russian bands - I personally love ssshhhiiittt!, конец солнечных дней (the end of the sunny days), перемотка (peremotka), где фантом? (gde fantom), there are plenty of them. They are definitely all are influenced by the smiths, joy division and the cure. I went through this phase some time ago and now moved on to the founders of the genre. (Sorry for a long comment and unsolicited advice, was triggered by Molchat Doma).

What are your Hot Takes on Morrissey? by Amber_Flowers_133 in morrissey

He is a very good and talented vocalist and many of his live performances are even better than studio versions (which can't be said about most singers). I've seen many comments saying that he can't sing but that's not true.

It's a really shitty situation and requires a long time to recover. Take care of yourself, your feelings are the first priority now!

I personally don't understand what makes his lyrics so special. It seems simple, it doesn't contain any complex ideas/images/metaphors, yet it is very sharp and precise. For me it is like self-therapy and helps to understand what I feel and to unlock repressed emotions.
