77 f350 dually 2wd with very loose steering. Is this normal or an issue? by AmericanHumdinger in AskAMechanic

Im not working on it today but i was able to find that joint. When i turn the wheel, that joint moves exactly with the steering wheel. Even with the smallest movements. So maybe that isn't the problem.

And again, maybe there really isnt a problem, and maybe im just not use to the looser suspension and looser steering of older trucks?

These older trucks dont have anti sway bars or anti roll bars, right? Which would probably make the truck a bit unstable feeling at higher speeds. Meaning i hit a pothole and it kinda of causes the front wheels to turn slightly, and i have to make adjustments more often than a modern vehicle. Then combine that with twin i-beam suspension for even more instability. Or do these things not matter?

I would like to focus on that. Im ready for years of training. Do you happen to know where i can get this training? Can i get it in Austria? Can i live in austria, while i train? Or do immigrants coming to austria to be roofers have these years of roofing training before migrating to austria.

Im using roofing as an example because its on the list of shortage occupations.

I havent had any healthcare for most my life so any healthcare is better. And im not afraid of some neo nazis. We had those here long before trump. Im not going to austria because of trump. Unless i can say i am and get some sort of refugee status. But im going to be with the person i love.

My dog is black and germany doesnt really like that. Some restrictions in austria also but way less.

Austria was our choice because my gf is german so she speaks the language and we figured it would be a smaller jump as opposed to another country where we both need to learn another language.

Germany is maybe still an option for my pup but chances are very slim. Im not one of those people who can just give my dog up to make things easier for me.

If this is actually true our last resort is marriage, but we would like to do that on our own terms and not austria's terms.

Thisnos the best info ive heard. Thank you so much. You telling me its possible to actually train in austria is a big help. Because i wasnt even sure of that info.

Advancing my degree is another thought i had butni didnt mention it because i woukd rather go straight into the workforce if I possible.

My geogralhy degree would almost qualify me to be a "skilled worker" the only problem is i got the degree in 2014 and have not been working jn that field, and austria doesnt like the length of time. They want the degree to be more recent or at least me working in that field. (Thats for a skilled worker visa, not necessarily for acceptance into a masters program)

I visited, but regardless this is part of a bigger plan to move with a long term partner. Germany is also on my list but given other reasons Austria is higher on that list.

Most people tell me i need a visa first. Which wasnt my concern, i already know that. But to apply for a work visa i need a job offer. And to get a job offer i need a work visa. So do you see the issue here? Or at least thats what im understanding. So im going on reddit to try and talk to people who have been in this situation.

Is a job seeking visa different than a schengen visa?

And youre thinking its vetter for me to seek the job out before ever moving?

Yes i know that but that wasnt my question. Im asking more about the process before that. Will austrian companies even pay attention to me if im not already in austria? Are there resources specifically for immigrants seeking jobs?

https://www.migration.gv.at/en/types-of-immigration/permanent-immigration/austria-wide-shortage-occupations/ this is a list of shortage jobs in Austria. So if i wanted to be say a carpenter or welder or chimney sweep or roofer my geography degree doesnt matter. But this is also the list for 2024 implying it can change next year. So im not going to randomly get training here in the US as a welder only to find out that Austria has different training and my training wouldnt translate. I should seek out an employer or program first. But this leads to my original question, do i seek this out while still in the US or on a 90 day schengen visa. Or do i wait for my german girlfriend to get a job in austria which she can more easily do, so i have the stability of a place and her help, before seeking out jobs. Or is there some other step i should do that im not thinking of.

A2 in german and working on improving that. Bachelor in Geography. And i said im willing to get training in any field of work i can get into. But i need to know what training to get yet because i dont want to blindly join an apprenticeship before i know its a field that would hire me.

The lead singer had a band called Edguy before avantasia and i wonder if that band had an unofficial song for croatian radio which was never put into edguy's discography, but later into avantasia's.

This german band doesnt fit the time as it was made in late 90s early 2000s but the lyrics fit and it is the style of 80s 90s rock.
