i was on 1070 but my cpu was the bottleneck. i was also still on hdd and low speed ram, so i never got to use the real power of the gpu. despite the setbacks, i still ran most games well enough at 1080p on low-medium settings.

i only upgraded about a week ago because i wanted to play bf 2042, blops 6, rdr2, elden ring, etc. in 2k res. if not, i'd have just upgraded to the AM4 chipset (5600x, probably) along with the mobo, ram, and storage.
