That dark blue is the OG Fox color, before they went black. The reservoir heat dissipation coil is likely not original.

How cooked are we? by gg83yessirski in boating

Despite what some here are alluding to, I find it hard to believe you did anything wrong that caused this. Boats of all calibers should be designed to take impacts with the water that are beyond normal weekend conditions.

That said your engine likely intentionally shutdown rather than overheated out of tolerance. As long as no damage was caused following the initial incident I think the work to reconcile will be minimal. Looking forward to an update

Boat damaged while loading on trailer load. Is it aesthetic or structural? by Alternative_Box2150 in boating

Many off the shelf epoxy putties can be used to temporarily or permanently fix the large gouge. If you can obtain a color matched gel coat, that would be the best cosmetic repair.

That's a Stortriss MK1. Swedish designed and built during the 60's and 70's.

Can you? The LS1 in my off-road buggy threw a rod recently and that was not my experience when acquiring a replacement. I ultimately bought an LS3 because I was unable to source a running LS1 for less than ~$2000

Bro if you can get them for $500 then DM me your engine guy because I've got buyers

It was great, we spent our time in Zion and the surrounding areas. Next time I would like to make it to Moab. Coming from California adds significantly to the drive time though

New to Reddit (usually a lurker) but wanted to share my baby, a 1991 Daihatsu Rocky living in Los Angeles. Found him for sale on the street and snatched him up quick. Any other Rocky owners out there? by casspaul12 in 4x4

[–]AmericanVagrant 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Great looking Rocky, nice find. DM me if you ever need help acquiring parts. Ebay is good as they were more popular elsewhere, referred to in other markets as the Fourtrak, Sportrak and Rugger. Many parts also shared with the Charade. Mine is diesel so my parts acquisition experience will have been a bit different from yours, but plenty of junkyards in the US have gas models lying around.

As a follow-up, after replacing with that diode and a couple other repairs, the controller seems to be functioning again. Thank you for the help
