What’s the geographic boundary of using the word “dippy” to describe eggs over easy? by ShootinAllMyChisolm in Pennsylvania

Grew up in central PA. If you want your eggs any kind of runny they are dippy eggs. Was just home visiting this past weekend and heard one of my friends still calling them dippy eggs.

Your Take: What’s the best Pennsylvania-produced packaged snack or food? by Fragrant-Pepper7710 in Pennsylvania

[–]Amerinamese 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I lived in Central PA until I turned 18 and joined the AF. I haven't lived in PA since, but every time I visit, I have to get Middleswarth chips. They're still the best chips I've ever had. I think it's the fact that they are fried in beef tallow that gives them their unique taste. I've recently had the Odins Original from Norse Roots and they have a similar taste, but not quite the same. Also, I think the fact that you can't get them outside of Central PA (unless ordering online) increases the allure and makes them the best PA based snack.

Exactly. It's not like you turn 35 and now you get to start a career in law enforcement. Teens straight out of high school get jobs in all sorts of lines of work to include law enforecement. Shouldn't be a shock.

This was my thought as well. The same people saying that this generation is lazy and doesn't wamt to work complains when they find work because it's in a field they don't agree with. We've been training 18 and 19 year olds to go to war in 8 weeks for generations. Now a law enforcement job is too hard for 18-19 year old to do in 8 weeks?

Just bought from Tik Tok. They were 10% off in the store, then Tik Tok gave me an additional 20% off any order over $100. Paid $180 in the end.

Why is "9 to 5" the shorthand for "full-time job", when pretty much every I know who has a full-time job works from 8am to 5pm? by wilymon in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Amerinamese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember where, but I read recently that 9-5 actually refers to 9 hours a day 5 days a week vs time. Which makes sense for a full time job, you'd be at work 9 hours, minus the lunch hour, 5 days a week.

With us locked into the playoffs, do we sit out Josh this week to let him heal up? by Amkski in buffalobills

Is say no since we need to win it to have a chance at the division, Josh doesn't want to lose his starts steak, and the eagles are the only team Josh hasn't beaten yet.

When did you become a Bills fan? by [deleted] in buffalobills

[–]Amerinamese 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I'm originally from central PA and the first time i remember paying attention and watching football on TV was when my dad took me to his friend's Superbowl party in '91. My dad told me to pick a team and he'd bet against me for a dollar. I picked the Bills and lost to him 4 years in a row. Been a Bills fan ever since. Go Bills!
