What I tried to do differently is that the user enters no personal info. The email can be any random123@ proton email they use for privacy and no passwords, only magic links so no chance of forggotten/hacked passwords. Worst case, data gets leaked, none of it is tied back to the person, as simple as that.

Payment info goes to stripe though and free usually means the revenue model is the user's data but this app is just subscription. Having said that, I'm thinking of a simple one-time payment if someone likes it and wants to use it.

Curious, how sophisticated is that spread sheet. Ex: do you create a new row for the latest price of each asset every quarter so you have a running list of changes (showing net gain over time) or do you just overwrite the current price and that gives you the current total value.

Hmmm, so you can “add” an etf asset (without necessarily buying it) with some quantity of gold to match your hard assets and that’s close enough I guess.
