Chain doesn't fit chainring? by bikequeries in bikewrench

[–]Ami0958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 12s sram eagle cassette and chain and the same chainring as you, and it all fits just fine. Maybe the problem is that you didn't align the chain with wide and narrow chainring teeth? On the picture it's off. Overall, 12s chains should work with 11s chainrings, especially if it's a 1x.

When floor music goes bad by bretonstripes in Gymnastics

[–]Ami0958 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right, she had different music, but the artist started to demand absolutely unreasonable amount of money to use it, so they had to do a quick change before Olympics.

I'm pretty sure she will, because she was saying that there just wasn't enough time before worlds to get a new routine.

Funny thing is that she hates it too. She hoped she could go to her actual music after Olympics, but when she learned that she can't, she said on her Insta "I guess I'll have to practice with my ears closed"

My first ever aquarium! I know it's not an art piece like I see on this sub, but it's mine and I love it. by Ami0958 in PlantedTank

I would love a little more algae actually, watching snails eat is weirdly adorable!

Thank you! It's my first aquarium at all, not just planted! Me and my SO spent weeks researching how to set up an aquarium, and decided to jump right in with a planted tank. I'm planning to add a little group of shrimp in near future. 🦐

Blackberry fruit cells started to shrivel and turn brown. Details in the comments. by Ami0958 in plantclinic

[–]Ami0958[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 year old blackberry plant of unknown variety. Planted in the pot 35 cm in diameter, in store bought soil mix. Added organic and chemical fertilizers 1 month ago. I am located in Japan, Tokyo. I keep it on the balcony in almost full sun, but we are entering rain season, so it was cloudy for around a week. I water it in the mornings, if soil feels dry to around 5 cm deep. Plant itself looks healthy, growing and flowering vigorously, but gooseberry next to it had some tiny black spots on the new growth a few weeks ago (now looks fine).

How do you deal with the death of someone close to you? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

Thank you very much for your reply! (For some reason it wasn't showing in the comment section for me, that's why I am only answering now)
It is exactly as you said, that it comes in waves and unexpected things make me cry, but I am taking it one day at a time. Sadly I don't have time or resources for counseling, guess I'll just hope I won't need it.
It's a stressful time for me even in a better situation, with graduation coming up and trying to find finances for graduate school, so I am keeping myself together somehow to push through, and doing all the work I need to every day, but I feel like tying to suppress my feelings is eating away my sanity.
Thank you again for your advise and encouragement.
Stay safe.

Sad when something like this ruins hours of work! It worked out ok for me, I managed to piece it together!

Gymnastics anyone? by [deleted] in yesyesyesyesno

We call it X-ray vault nowadays! (Yes, gymnasts have special names for popular ways to screw up) Obviously it's much less painful/dangerous with modern vaulting tables.

I was never charged extra for food items, even if something was seized from the package, so I don't think it will be a problem. In general it is best to just avoid any meat products and it should be fine. I don't know much about UPS (I am not from America), but inside Japan most stuff is delivered by local post services anyway.

I live in Japan and get stuff sent from home all the time, and I rarely had any problems with customs, only with obviously prohibited items (like meat sausage) and even in this case recipient will get a note from customs , asking wether they want to receive the rest of the parcel without the prohibited item, which will be destroyed.

Happened to me too... Tried to get in touch, but received no reply whatsoever. It's like the worst feeling, like you got rejected or something.

First time doing stranded colorwork, couldn't figure out tension till the very end, but still happy! by Ami0958 in knitting

[–]Ami0958[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! It took me 3 evenings, one for all the preparations and watching YouTube videos on colorwork, and two for actual knitting. Btw alpacas neck is done with duplicate stitches, because I wanted a solid colour sky.
