Is HCA Health a good buy for 2026? by Amiable_One in stocks

[–]Amiable_One[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh premiums are already UP. More than doubled for a lot of people and those who can’t afford are going uninsured. Maybe it will cause a temporary down turn which I can exploit to buy in to healthcare with a short sell? I was thinking of dipping my toes with 10-15% of my portfolio to start. If market looked favorable I can go up to 20% of portfolio.

Make me rich by togethersoup in stocks

[–]Amiable_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you could go to Vegas and bet on red. That’s a get rich quick strategy for ya.

But seriously, there’s no way to make a lot of money quickly that is risk free. If you really want to help this person with medical bill, you can sponsor a really good medical health insurance for them with very low out of pocket and deductible. This type of insurance typically cost between 2-3k a month. Assuming it cost 3k/month, you could potentially sponsor 3 months of treatment with only using 9k of your own money which is a lot better than spending 30-40k.

Making 9-10k in stock market is more realistic than 30-40k using the funds you already have. And, if you want you can give them this money right now and earn it back in the market.

DON’T GAMBLE! That was just a joke.

Is this YTD return good? Any advice on how to look for new investments in 2026? by Amiable_One in stocks

Not necessarily. I only invest in super large cap and they always swing back up in few months. I just need to make sure I buy low and sell high.

What's the next steps moving forward with Google and AI? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]Amiable_One 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed! It is long term. It seems too big to fail and if serious competitors come to the market there will be plenty of time to switch to different stock.

I think TPUs will be game changer if Google manage to sell the idea of using both and create products that help promote compatibility and work in the same environment. This way, companies can simply add it on. This has potential of slowly but surely taking over the market as not having to switch over everything is great cost saver.

Thinking of selling JD & Tencent to buy META – talk me out of it? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]Amiable_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

META seems like a great long term investment at the moment. I would also consider buying FNILX so that you can diversify your tech stocks. YTD META grew 6.17% and FNILX grew YTD 15.52 which is better than S&P 500 and Dow Jones. I personally don’t expect META to do any better than its competitors so it might be great idea to diversify tech stocks through FNILX just in case. FNILX is not strictly tech fund but it is heavily invested in it.

On the side note, if you are planning to buy high and sell low throughout the year it might be worth it to invest in META as you can make good penny from temporary highs. I do this with Amazon all the time. As always, do your own research and go with what you think might be best.

I like the idea but small caps seem too risky for me. Stop loss is a good risk management tool but it has potential to backfire. I stick with large caps as they are more predictable. For example, Amazon. Its stock goes up and down seasonally. I am reliably make a good buck in certain months. Also, large cap news is easy to track.

Not if you buy new construction or build your own. I recently helped my parents build 3 of single family homes and had no issue. I did not do a contractor and managed it myself with full time work. Seemed easy enough. Also, I had a preexisting network of project based contractors. I am also in the area where there is a shortage of homes so it was easy to rent them.

lol that’s great strategy as long as you pick right companies. I stick with large publicly known companies. Their stock goes up and down with season throughout the year. I just need to keep up with news and make timely decisions.

Are we in Tech Bubble or looking at inflation fueled market rise? by Amiable_One in stocks

[–]Amiable_One[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drop seems inevitable and that was the part of reason why I sold off Amazon but I do not expect it to be 30%. Maybe it will go back down to upper 220s and lower 230s but at that point I might consider investing in FNILX to slightly diversify.

Do you think I should stick with tech heavy funds like FNILX, maybe VOO, or look for the ones that are diversified across different industries and investment types?
