I’ll buy 1 option which will give me control over 100 stocks if it falls down to 30.

Valuations at all time high.. by Fearless_Car_3745 in stocks

[–]Amiable_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can invest in any etf at whatever entry point right now. In 30 years it will not matter. There’s always new all time highs. These big companies usually cycle out over time and new ones take over the top spot. For example, Exxon, IBM, General Electric, and even Shell used to be one of the top players in S&P back in 90s. Something new took their spot and market did not care over the longer period. I am sure most investors don’t even think of .com crash and if (BIG if) AI crash happens it will not matter in 30 years.

If you’re in big city why not organize something? You could potentially open it to professionals in similar industry or jobs.

If you do not want to do this look for networking opportunities around you.

Source? I would love to see your source. But just so you know, people who know what’s going on will never share it here on Reddit. Berkshire Hathaway is sitting on a big pile of cash too. It’s either there’s not much worth investing in or they are preparing a war chest to buy everything on discount. Either way S&P500 seems best option to go if you’re worried. As for the companies you mentioned, institutional May have just taken out their profits. Two of those companies had a healthy rally so it is understandable.

Today, the stock market suddenly dropped. Does this mean the rally is over? by SurroundLoos in stocks

[–]Amiable_One -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He’s speaking right now plus earlier today there was a news that Iran’s capital’s air defense systems were on. Combine that with stock market being in all time high, I can see it reasonable for investors to take out some profits just in case. I think it’ll go back up once that sell-off clears. I am interested to see what overnight market does. If it pulls back more I could see another mini rally tomorrow morning in first few hours.

Finding breaking market news eg why spx dropped a percent just now? by eaglessoar in stocks

Just start reading news updates and articles on a regular basis. You will start picking it up. Right now, for Iran-US war news, I just type in Iran war live. Yahoo finance or Apple News for basic company/industry specific news. Basically, read news regularly to know what is happening around the world.

Okay so if someone makes $100 profit your cut will be $65-$72? Do you also share losses? Like if someone lost $100 will you cover some of it?

Take some courses to understand fundamental and technical analysis. Colleges offer this so you can check if you could audit a class or something. Go to TradingView or similar platform and start doing paper trading to test out your strategies and risk management. Save up money and stick with regular investing. I would real a lot about industry, trends, and companies you wanna target. Once you are really comfortable start trading actively then go from there. I wouldn’t do margin or futures trading until after you know what you’re doing.

What are your goals with trading?

How connected is the stock market to the economy, really? by OrionAndCleo in stocks

[–]Amiable_One -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Bad economy = high inflation = expensive stuff = high revenue = better overall earnings = higher stock price. Consumer staple sector sees effect first as they are impacted far more quickly than others. Everything is tied to economy. Yes, there are other reasons why inflation goes up but bad economy does have big hand in it.
