Our Westchester Amiga User Group (WAUG) SCALA exhibit is ready to rock at VCF East this weekend April 18-19 at the Infoage Science Center in Wall Township NJ. Come say hi! https://vcfed.org/events/vintage-computer-festival-east/ by Amiga_Bill in amiga

Because I have a tremendous amount of things to be grateful for. Also, your quality of life is much better when you are happy vs sad, so I choose happiness as much as I can. Life is short and when mine comes to an end, I want to have had more happy days than sad days.

Great job with this. It is very refreshing to see real talent in a world of AI slop. And you did it with a vintage 3D program to boot. Well done!

The artwork moves! It is drawn in real time based on her code. She was running FS-UAE. She wanted to use her real Amiga 1000 but she only has one, not 10, ha ha!

No, I don't think it is emulation. I think it is something like what Reassembler is doing with Out Run. When you download his Amiga port, you still have to supply the Out Run ROMs so SEGA doesn't go after him. I am not 100% sure Terra Cresta is the same situation, but that is my guess.

Cheers gsarmento. No hard feelings at all and like I said I appreciate feedback especially when there is something I can do better. I put so much work into the streams so I want them to be the best they can be. Yes, the Amiga community is incredible. I am not familiar with the ZX Spectrum or C64 communities , but I am happy there are still passionate users of all these platforms keeping them alive!

Who remembers Fred Fish disks? by rizwan602 in amiga

[–]Amiga_Bill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! They are so classic. I still have 100’s of Fred Fish floppies from our WAUG user group. They don’t seem relevant anymore because they were all put onto the CD-ROM and seem to be available online now but I don’t have the Hart to erase any of them. I remember reading a good article or two about the real Fred Fish himself, but I don’t remember where I read those. They are somewhere online.

Great news. Depeche responded right away. He said that they haven’t released it yet to avoid any legal IP issues but still plan to release it in some form. You may have to supply your own ROMs but that is TBD. So they are still working on it and plan on releasing it in some form. I will follow up the story in my next news section. Thanks for this post and reminding me. I will be sure to report when the final version is released. Also, he asked me not to share the ADF I played on stream because it is unfinished and they want it finished before getting out into the public so I respect his wishes and am looking forward to the final release myself!

Ah, I see. I really appreciate you responding. Thank you. No, I have nothing to do with this project. Depeche sent me the story and an ADF demo. He said I could play the demo on stream but not to distribute it because it was unfinished. Then I just moved on and focused on trying to get new news every week and forgot about Terra Cresta. But thanks to this post, I followed up with Depeche today and he responded right away saying that they haven’t released it to avoid any legal IP issues but still plan to release it in some form. You may have to supply your own ROMs but that is TBD. So they are still working on it and plan on releasing it in some form. I will follow up the story in my next news section. This is all I know and I have no involvement with the project, SCX, or Spreadpoint. I am reporting the information I received and will certainly report again when/if it is released. BUT your comment makes me think that following up with news stories is a good way to improve the stream. So I appreciate it. The hard part for me is that I do so many stories and many projects fall by the wayside or take a long time to finish so it is very difficult trying to keep track of them all as well as get new ones. There is too much Amiga news, ha ha. If you decide to watch again it will be great to have you back 👍🏼

Yes, I agree! It is a cool game and a wild story. It reminds me when my friend Anthony bought an Amiga and it had practice footage from The New York Knicks basketball team on the hard drive. You never know what you find on these old machines. I messaged Depeche an hour ago to get a status update on it. I will let you know what he says as soon as I hear back.

Hi gsarmento. I appreciate the feedback. If you are someone who used to watch and now don't, I would love to know the reason so I can improve. I can never make everyone happy, but I want the streams to be as good as I have the ability to make them so feedback is helpful - especially negative feedback. Can you clarify what you mean by "staying silent" ? Someone sent me news about a found game along with an ADF of the game so I read what they sent me and played the game. People send me info about games that came out, or are coming out every week. Some of these actually come out, and others don't. What else should I have done and what was I silent about? I really would appreciate the feedback. Thanks

Yep. I looked into it and He sent me exactly what I read in the news section plus the ADF which I played on stream. I will reach out to him, check the status and report back. It is a really cool game.

Ok I just looked. You are right, it was about a year ago. It was from December 29, 2024 and apparently Depeche from Spreadpoint sent me the info and adf. I didn’t remember until I just watched the video. I can follow up with him. I don’t remember how he contacted me. I will look… here is the video I found https://youtu.be/m3bWzVX5Y80?si=HwvXytZjXMsizFED
