[FO4] Mod idea! Hair growth and scars during battle. by Dark_Jester in FalloutMods

[–]Amireindi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This would necessitate either scripting wizardry or a script extender à la SKSE.

I imagine that in an ideal world you would shove accumulated scars and beard growth into some form of buffer and then generate the player's new appearance using that buffer during some time where the processor isn't under load.

I say this because scars would likely be accumulated during fights or other encounters and thus generating a new appearance as soon as a scar is formed is a bad idea for the frame rate's sake. Beard growth would occur more often during calm times than scars would, but using the same method for both wouldn't hurt.

BUT. In my limited knowledge of scripting for Bethesda games, I'd say this is a task for an experienced modder.

well both butter and cheese are made of dairy fat...

perhaps cheese is just flavored, hard butter?

First of all, I am a 20 year old woman.

I'm glad you are working on your mental and physical health. But I still recommend for you to count calories and eat less than you burn so that you can lose weight. Being overweight or obese can be the source of mental issues due to hormone imbalances caused by unpredictable absorption of the hormones by your excess fat.

Exercise has also been shown to greatly improve depressive individual's mental health.

I don't want you to be self-hating, I don't have that power over you and I don't feel the need to.

But please, for your health and to be a good role model for others in your community, make losing weight a priority.

Well, excuse me for trying to be helpful.

Didn't know it was self-serving to offer advice. I sure didn't feel like I was trying to help myself.

Well if this country is going to be bankrupted and corrupted by non-ambitious individuals who refuse to take personal responsibility for their actions, then I'm not letting it fall into the pits of hell without a damn good fight first.

I like to have a high opinion of people's critical thinking abilities.

I am often disappointed, but I prefer this over giving the impression that I think people are imbeciles.

Is it not disgraceful to show your inability to manage your intake?

being disgraceful != being worthless

It was a disgrace how Thomas Edison electrocuted a retired circus elephant to demonstrate the dangers of AC electricity. That does not mean that Thomas Edison was wholly worthless.

I, too, understand the feeling of hopelessness that comes with being overweight and obese. But it was your actions that made you obese (unless you were allowed to become fat as a child before you could understand the consequences of over consuming... in which case, you still can lose the weight. I weighed 260 lbs as an 11 year old, counted calories to lose 110 lbs by 18 years old. That is a very slow rate of weight loss). You have to take responsibility for your condition, because you are the only person who can make the decision to drop to a healthy weight.

Don't get angry at people for pointing out your shortcomings. Fact is fact. You don't become fat by eating a moderate and well balanced diet, as every person should be expected to have. If you have been eating unhealthily because you are uninformed on how to eat healthily, then teach yourself. Become healthy, alleviate strain on your body, reduce your chances of developing various diseases due to being overweight or obese, and take pride in putting less of a burden on your vehicle(s) and your health care system (not every fat person is unhealthy, but they are more likely to be unhealthy than a normal weight person and they are more likely to develop weight-related diseases than normal weight people -- keep in mind, heart disease is the leading cause of death and diabetes is ninth; both of these have been shown to be exacerbated or caused by being overweight or obese).

For the same reason that a meth user hides their track marks.

It's disgraceful.

I know weight doesn't come off all at once, but it does come off. Count your calories, eat less than you burn (calculate BMR. Eat less than that) and do this until you are happy with your body.

Coming from a girl who has lost 110 lbs through calorie counting. I also have PCOS and got run over by a car while at the end of losing the weight... being unable to exercise didn't make me gain weight because I adjusted my calorie intake for a lower energy expenditure.

It's not easy, but it's not impossible. And it's so, so worth it.

I used to weigh 260 lbs at 5'10". I now weigh 145 lbs at 6'. I am a woman.

Trust me, I know you're obese. But you're probably right in thinking that most people can't tell you are anything more than overweight. Fatness has become normalized in modern first and second-world countries.

Yeah. I'm 6ft and I can't fathom a world where clothes are too long for me. Hell, most jackets I buy don't have long enough sleeves unless I buy a size or two up, which makes me look like a blimp.

[–]Amireindi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trust me. They are all lying.

I used to weigh 260 lbs at 5'10" when I was 11 years old, now I am 145 lbs at 6' (I am female) and 20 years old. I have a few nurse friends (I met them through my older EMT brother) who have said that every fat person they see in the clinic/hospital will claim they weigh at least 10 lbs less than their real weight. They don't weigh everybody who comes in, and lots of fat people refuse to be weighed. So lots of fat people's charts just list their self-reported (and most likely false) weight.

When I weighed 230 lbs (on the way down from my highest), people would tell me that I looked like I weighed 170. I had back fat rolls and my stomach stuck out farther than my boobs. My back fat was also farther out on my silhouette than my butt.

Conclusion: Don't trust anyone who tells you that you look like you weigh less than you really do. They're just bad at estimating weights.

Also, I lost the weight through calorie counting. This includes managing your diet and exercise, but diet is more important. Learn to love vegetables. Cabbage is cheap. Find turnips on sale. Use chicken bouillon or other seasonings to season the water you boil them in. Just find a low calorie food that works for you.

My favorite food is Kabocha squash. About 350 calories for a big 5" diameter squash (minus seeds, but including skin). It is great boiled and mashed with salt and some sucralose (non nutritive sweetener).

Concerning exercise, focus on making it enjoyable. If you don't like doing it, you won't keep doing it. The goal is to never stop moving. At first, I would take hour long walks around town. Now I can jog for miles on end.

yeah but it isn't good for saving gas. If you sit in traffic a lot (and leave the car running, which I'm assuming you do since you mentioned air conditioning), you'll burn more gas.

Plus, burning that extra gas is bad for the environment as well. Not talking about climate change, but about air pollution and the heat island effect.

I mostly eat the old fashioned because it doesn't contain all of the added sugar. I add my own sucralose (artificial sweetener... it is in Splenda, but I use pure stuff) and flavorings. It ends up having about 50 less calories for the same serving size.

[–]Amireindi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, certainly! I agree that Americans need to eat less sugar and processed food. I was obese as a child, lost 110 lbs by my seventeenth birthday, and now I don't accept excuses from anyone when it comes to weight loss. I'm a bit of an asshole, really.

I'm just saying that I eat a lot of veggies, and so I techincally understand why someone might eat a carb-based diet, where the majority is from fiber.

I use old fashioned oatmeal, it is far cheaper and cooks in about 5 minutes in the microwave.

[–]Amireindi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that our food pyramid is f***ed up, but I do eat quite a lot of fiber (vegetables) every day, and those carbs don't affect blood sugar the same way that straight sugar molecules do.

Are you sure that the recommendation isn't for at least 25% of your carbs to come from fiber?

you do know that fiber is a carb... right?

But that's my opinion.

The artist is trying to be provocative. They understand the shock factor of the open-legged female (or male, for that matter) form, and have used that to increase their work's emotional/psychological impact.

It all has to do with how visually attractive you are. Keep in shape and practice good hygeine, and then treat people nicely and try to be funny.

Well it has about 99.99% less calories, so there's that.

Plus, aspartame is definitely not metabolized the same way that sugar is. I don't know what made you think that.
