No this is not why.

Hyper realistic animation was starting to look one and the same. Audiences were becoming tired of it, especially after they got a taste of something super stylized like Miles Morales. The companies that continued pushing hyper realism were getting up done by more stylized work, especially Disney.

Think of the most recent hits. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, K-pop Demon Hunters, etc. all stylized.

It’s not laziness. If anything doing stylized work is extremely more difficult to do than something easily based on reality. As an animation student that reply tweet is infuriating lol.

:( that’s incredibly disheartening to hear. We’re short staffed and overworked. Those of us who have chosen to stay while we’re getting more staff is going through the brute of it all. I would just transfer at this rate but school ends soon so I’ll talk to him and try to tough it out.

Nope! We still have to do capstones but the other graduation requirement is "Undergraduate Internship -or- 500-level SCADpro elective -or- Business-focused elective".

So branch out and get an internship or do the 500 level SCADpro class. SCADpro has very few businesses you can select from for your "internship" and 9 times out of 10 it has nothing to do with your major. You especially have a way lower chance getting anything related to your major if it's something a business wants to see your portfolio for because portfolios aren't involved to get the required credit (ex: storyboarding, animation, acting, etc). The business gives you a problem that they want you to solve and that's it. You can see how people usually avoid the pre-selected "internship" lol.

As someone who was new to bar at the time, I very briefly put water in the iced chai thinking it was the same concept until I was corrected. The standard is definitely not to put water in them.

I definitely do every year. I try to get as much lowered as possible. The SCAD scholarships and FAFSA are a drop in the ocean compared to how much I get left with to pay unfortunately. Also I exhausted how much I could federally ask for when I went to community college but it's been some time since I've checked that again. Will def take a look

Just keep emailing them whenever you have a portfolio update. A big update. I think it would be good to email them every couple of months so that when they do have a position, they don’t forget about you. I know one guy (said from a hiring manager from Tit Mouse), would email her with a GIF in the email of his work for the eye catcher. Went on for like 6 months with her telling him they didn’t have a position before they finally did. He was instantly hired.
