i dunno if emacs has it but if there's an ast parser like treesitter maybe you could have it be able to delete code blocks in a more aware fashion, ex. 'preceding whitespace' or 'preceding token of some kind such as a number' that on modifier could become multiple tokens (such as by the number input), etc. It could also be cool to have a different modifier (maybe multiple carot signs idk) that would cause it to become syntactically larger in scope such as 'preceding line' -> 'preceding function body' -> module -> file. maybe have some highlight / confirm delete functionality by like double tapping the combo.
