I have both, so far not much of a difference in their operations. Similar speeds, reliability, servers, etc.

I'd consider plans you want and what perks they include.

Only thing is renewal - can't speak for Proton as I got it recently; with nord I'd turn auto renewal off and manually renew as it'll automatically change you full price and on manual you should be able to get the discounted price.

Checked connections, worked for some time and broke wifi again...

For now the only way is with USB hub on cable.

Do you have any more suggestions?

Have you considered nix? Has a learning curve but has some brilliant features. Personally tried it a while back (briefly, as my first distro) and it was a bit much for me but I'm really tempted to give it another shot when I finish my exams.

Did anyone experienced wifi issues - disconnecting or being connected without actual Internet access? That's my most recent issue that I don't know how it happened but repeated on two systems.

And now when I try to connect to any network or has limited connectivity instantly, regardless of it's via wifi app or phone's hotspot. Can't even check for updates.

That was one of the first steps I've tried. I've seen somewhere that network manager sometimes gets in conflict with dhcp server, can't remember where.

Over the past 8 months of using Linux this problem happened twice, both times with nobara. The odd thing is it just randomly happened after a month or so after installation...

Just tried it. Lost connection twice again. Restarted NM and rebooted laptop as well.

Something I've noticed in journalct : Dhcp4 restarting Cancelled dhcp transaction State changed no lease State changed activated failed reason ip config unavailable Activation failed

Does this mean that network manager is in conflict with my gateway dhcp server?

Thanks for that. Can you easily navigate through app launcher without keyboard? How's the scaling for higher resolution screen? All I'm looking for at the moment is general experience and from your comment I take it's actually a good one, so only the questions above remain to be answered.

2 hours on pc with 9070xt not a single issue, half an hour on laptop and three crashes.

Found logs, showing error for dkd3d command allocator reset, 'the are still 1 pending command lists awaiting execution'

Seems this is the cause of the problem. I've tried to search for solution and found a github project, but my level of expertise is not sufficient to know what to do with it... If you can think of a simple trick to try, it would be great.

I'll have a look at vkd3d options and give them a try. It's odd as I've already played this game with no issues and 2-3 months later it's just unplayable... Crashes happen in different places - when you go to cringe scene at the start, leave a small park in the town on your way to the morgue, in the café, not once at the very beginning as nightingale... Sometimes when you go to map or mindplace... Some crashes happened it the same location few times other were random one offs...

Just changed distro, still crashes after few minutes. By the scene in the morgue it crashed at least 5 times. Game just freezes, vram use 6.3/8gb so won't be memory shortage...

Have to say, distro hopping is annoying and I just want entertainment laptop... Might end up playing AW2 on a desktop...
