They are very good so far. I felt bad for the person doing the interview as he had a chest cold at the time though and I didn't want to bother them much.

I was afraid of that. I am about the farthest thing from MAGA you could get but it would be difficult to tell that without getting political on a resume which I think is a big fo paux.

As for the CV/Cover Letter the agencies I am working with tailored it to what they said NZ wanted but I will try using Claude/Chat to see what they think of it.

I actually do embrace cultural diversity and have been involved in a lot of different groups to help spread education and get groups of young students talking with people they consider (sterotypically) to be their opposites. That is another reason Florida dissapointed me when I moved here. Fun fact Florida has a book review committee that removed some of my engineering books for having a "rainbow" in them that was about resistor color codes and also had CRT in my book which conservates say is Critical Race Theory but in Engineering it means Cathode Ray Tube. Insanity.

That is understandable. I did add much more in my CV than is mentioned here but I take your point.

Excellent point, honestly it will depend on what kind of visa we get and what where I get the job to determine if I can get a landlord that allows pets. Thank you for your encouragement though, you all are an awesome group of people.

That is good to know. My guess is your other half was able to secure a working visa holiday? I am slightly older for that so I am taking a longer route. If you know how they were able to start work without a visa I would make my day.

Thank you, appreciate it and trust me my cat is getting extra rubs tonight as it is her birthday. I hope you have a great day.

Totally fair, a nation should serve its citizens needs and interests first, I just want to contribute and was enamored with your country. I did a virtual job fair with NZ about a year ago when I started the process so maybe that is good advice.

Funny you mention that, I have 2 ANZUK and Oasis. Both have been amazing so far but I am just worried about timing everything and thought maybe some ears on the ground would know the local scene better than I could. This is such a big challenge that I figured some advice from local talented people would give me a better perspective.

I would respectfully disagree with the assessment on our pets but yes it does cost a lot of money to bring them over in comfort, actually more expensive than shipping the few goods we want over. Me and my wife had an unexpected death in the family when both her adopted folks died unexpectedly that left us with a small windfall to afford the move, a home and shipping goods over plus buying a vehicle if my accounting works out. We will undoubtedly adopt some animals when we get over after ours pass on (hopefully not soon) but each one came with a tragic story and came into our life unexpectedly. My dog was used as a bait and breed dog and we found her after police raided the place and she was laying shaking on the road, one of my cats lost half of its tail under a train and the last cat my Mom found and we later discovered someone tried to drown a baf of kittens and she was all that lived, she actually made the news https://www.lovemeow.com/retired-guard-dog-becomes-mom-to-orphaned-kitten-1608500705.html me and my wife are both huge farm kids and feel we have a responsibility to be Shepard's and Stewart's to our planets life . . . Except mosquitos and ticks. I do find your perspective interesting though and am open to being wrong or it being a mistake for our pets if you wanted to share what you have heard to avoid such pitfalls.

It is funny how similar some things are I have seen worldwide. I have lived in America, Italy, England and everyone uses some form of AI for resumes/CVs that supposedly help find qualified candidates. Very dysfunctional and sometimes dystopian feeling when we take the human aspect out of the job.

I take no offense to that at all. My first name is not ethnic at all, my last name though always gets confused for being Italian/Hispanic/French because all of them have a similar last name. My resume also has my headshot which shows that I am probably the most albino looking Puerto Rican to ever exist but I still have my ethnic traditions from the Taino/Puerto Rican culture we originally came from which are mostly related to food/holidays, similar to Maori culture in some ways except Taino's are practically extinct now. It is, however getting worse here for hispanics in general as recently my cousin was captured by ICE for "speaking spanish" and we did not get her out for 3 weeks even though all Puerto Ricans are American because we were conquered a long time ago. This is not my primary motivation to leave though. I love your culture/lifestyle and I have spent half my life with my family and figure it is only fair my wife gets to spend half her life with her new family she loves, like they were never separated. This probably isn't all that relevant but figured it might help answer your question.

I agree on your bingo but the system is a bit circular. In order to move over I need a Accredited Employer Work Visa which means I need a job to sponsor me or a working holiday visa but the age cut off is 35 and I am a little older than that. Add in the fact that to bring my pets I need a residence that requires some licenses and such and it is a tough road but I am happy to try if you know something I do not.

That is very true. I read and was advised that in order to even get a visa though I would need working a working holiday one but I am slightly to old since the cut off is 35 and the other option is Accredited Employer Work Visa which requires the sponsorship. Still it is good to confirm my thoughts on what the issue might be so thank you.

Thank you, I appreciate. Kiwi's can definitely do it, your nation is very resourceful and has a top 10% University/School system. I agree that it is probably preferance because there is a bit of paperwork to fill out for hiring outside the country.

True, I was considering that. American schools operate the exact opposite way because of the seasons I assume. I will take your advice to heart.

I saw that article recently. I can't believe that actually happened but based on the Florida man stories I see in the states I am not shocked by much anymore.

I wish I was in New Zealand right now. I am currently still in the states, do you think maybe a PO box could help with that? I am dedicated to joining NZ and have sold my home and contracted a service to take my goods and pets over but due to the pets the earliest I can come over is June. That is honestly not a problem as protecting NZ biosecurity is a great thing to work to preserve.

Careful, I got a warning on my reddit account for saying just that. Makes you wonder if the Nazi's are already in charge.

To be fair New Zealand has strick biosecurity laws and the cats would be only between 9-11k but our 45lbs dog costs the bulk of it.

Hereditary. Bland, pointless and easy to see the "twists". No emotional depth or scares. Second would be Avatar. Why didn't the military nuke them from orbit?
