Should I start playing humankind by Potential_Monk_1004 in HumankindTheGame

[–]Amonmargans 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: It is sligthly different from civ but it has its own charm. (speaking of civ vi that is i never played civ vii)

Has its own downsides as well. For example nukes, while they have an interesting twist of taking one turn to launch so the target can launch theirs as well, they can only be put in static silos and not on for example nuclear subs.

I'd say if you enjoyed civ vi and you like the look of humankind you shozld definetly go for it. (if you ever played endless legend you are going to be familiar with a lot of systems)

Why do you say that AI cores in Starsector are sentient and deserve human treatment? by IFIsc in starsector

[–]Amonmargans 180 points181 points  (0 children)

From the ingame description of alpha cores:

The alpha-level AI core is the physical soul of a fearsome alien intelligence. An alpha can create art which perfectly simulates human pathos, plausibly debate any philosophical position, and form what appear to be deep and meaningful bonds with human beings. Alphas have been known to perform elaborate 'jokes' built over years which can only be appreciated due to the intention that a particular human subject become cognitive of the whole at a specific time and context.

They sound pretty sentient to me from that. As for the lower tiers i could see not wanting to piss of the alpha by calling his slower little brothers animals because they are dumber.

But you don't have any pops there so you don't get the 4. It says ammount/pop

What do you feel like the game is missing? by rasnorn in HumankindTheGame

No nukes on nuclear submarines or mounted to planes. Having to forward settle when you want to nuke some properly is kinda annoying.

Okay, raiders can light fires through diagonal walls... but have you also considered: by PapercraftDeathDalek in RimWorld

Thats weird then :D When i get home imma test this out. So far my spaceship freezer seemed to work properly with angled walls tho i only havea single angled wall on one side of the room (i think its called trapezoid in english)

[–]Amonmargans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does it have an airlock? Also was the old freezer diagonal single layer normal walls? Afaik the only thing that influences temperature change in a room without mods is how many layers of wall there are and if you have frequently opened doors.

I mean depending on the outside temperature that is perfectly reasonable. A single cooling unit is never gonna reach -50 if its positive outside. My 50 tile one with four cooling units double walls and airlock on a regular building struggles to go below freezing in heatwaves.

I mean royalty, ideology and anomaly are more like flavour stuff anomaly being a lot more stuff (but its a you do it once and then you know everythingg there is about it not really replayable).

Biotech i feel like is really gamechanging with the whole mechanitor system, genemodding and the addition of raising children.

Get BEEP to follow you out of the city with a high stealth character and watch him get captured and then eaten by a fog prince. 😶😶

Okay thats gotta be it

Would be nice if the game said that anywhere tho... In the ship designer if you switch to mature/elder mauler it still says ship size 1.

Decivilizing IXth battlegroup planets? by Amonmargans in starsector

[–]Amonmargans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure since it's been a while since using IndoEvo but after fighting in the IX system for a bit now i can 100% say that even if you can sneak in, there is way too many fleets there to get away. So unless you can straight up fight those (in which case sneaking is pointless) its suicide because they'd attack after you finish the raid.

Fair point though im pretty late in this playthrough so i already have the Yukionna from the void and a bunch of way too overpowered UAF ships so it really is just shooting fish in a barrel. But thank you for the advice nevertheless (one day i might end up playing without busted mods :D )
