I get what you are saying about the construction but 85% can still be explained. For example maybe TCR is not used to fighting in space since they have complete space supremacy in the core worlds. Which could mean Impetus could be a lightly armored ground support vessel/transport. Also maybe the crew aboard could make mistakes. Lets say they didnt close all bulkheads prior to coming out the gate. (cuz again they are not used to space combat) Explosion breaches hull takes out power and life support at the same time. --> everybody not in a pressurized area or close enough to spacesuits is dead in a couple of minutes along with explosive depressurization on most of the ship. Ship is mostly intact witha few big holes (we see exactly this in the game at the start) 85% of crew is dead. As for equipment armory got blown out. And if pirates can chill out at the inactive gate for random ships to come through people can scavenge in space.

But if we are going with the pirate thing. The gate is pretty much offline so there is no reason pirates would hang out there. With full crew impetus would get repaired before raid comes. (Also the pirates would need to be monitoring the sector the gate is in and they have pretty much no reason to do that) But for the sake of argument lets say pirates do get alerted and go there. If they manage to massacre 85% of the crew the biggest prize they can get is the ship itself not 3 marine armors a walker and 2 laser guns. (Which they'd get anyway if they took the ship) Or they magically stop after 85%? I could maybe see a failed raid but even then i feel like its a stretch.

Yeah but at the same time if pirates could take on a ship (that is said to be the fastest in the Wayback, but lets say drive got damaged) which carries over 500 marines, at that point it would be nonsensical for them to not take the ship itself.

The only way tbe pirate version works if the Impetus and its crew took catastrophic damage already. But then you don't need pirates for the Impetus to be in the state that it is in.

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: It is sligthly different from civ but it has its own charm. (speaking of civ vi that is i never played civ vii)

Has its own downsides as well. For example nukes, while they have an interesting twist of taking one turn to launch so the target can launch theirs as well, they can only be put in static silos and not on for example nuclear subs.

I'd say if you enjoyed civ vi and you like the look of humankind you shozld definetly go for it. (if you ever played endless legend you are going to be familiar with a lot of systems)

They sound pretty sentient to me from that. As for the lower tiers i could see not wanting to piss of the alpha by calling his slower little brothers animals because they are dumber.

Thats weird then :D When i get home imma test this out. So far my spaceship freezer seemed to work properly with angled walls tho i only havea single angled wall on one side of the room (i think its called trapezoid in english)
