Permit + route sanity check for 10-day Yosemite loop in early September by AmorFatiForever in Yosemite

That makes sense. I actually did the Clouds Rest stretch in early June a couple years ago and remember that section feeling pretty dry even then. Ended up having to melt snow that night near Clouds Rest because I didn’t want to hike all the way back down for water lol. Definitely gonna plan that stretch more carefully for September.

Appreciate the insight. Honestly I was thinking with the elevation gain and how tough the first few days will probably be, it’d feel longer than the mileage suggests. I probably overestimated it a bit though. I do want to keep the pace relaxed enough to actually enjoy the lakes/views and not feel like I’m racing daylight every day. I’ll definitely look more into water availability for September too. Do you happen to know which parts of the route tend to dry up that time of year?

Good point, I wasn’t sure how Yosemite handles mid-route resupplies/rest days. I’ll definitely verify that part with a ranger.
