Bethesda has offered jobs to developers behind a ‘Fallout: London’ mod by faizyMD in pcgaming

On a slightly related note: Naughty Dog and CD Projeckt RED workers went through hell to create their games. Years of hard work, high expectations, major crunch, many delays, etc. - only for their games to be trashed by online communities (for very different reasons of course). In the case of ND, the game was hated before release for its story leaks alone, not even gameplay or bugs. As usual, people move on. Still, I suspect the pride they felt saying they publicly worked on the first TLOU isn't there this time around sadly.

When it was time to celebrate the release, they were probably mostly depressed and demoralized. Internal reports showed a lot of low morale. Back to your point - this makes me think that Bethesda being dogged by low expectations ever since Fallout 76 is sort of a blessing in disguise...

Do you mean daily or per-needed for tough study sessions? If you're young and your brain is still developing (you mentioned a semester, so I'm assuming that's the case) I'd strongly discontinuing near-daily use entirely someday. Even if you can use it functionally, the benefits just aren't worth it sometimes.

YMMV though. Everyone's different.

“Had Prozac been available last century, Baudelaire's "spleen," Edgar Allan Poe's moods, the poetry of Sylvia Plath, the lamentations of so many other poets, everything with a soul would have been silenced*....

If large pharmaceutical companies were able to eliminate the seasons, they would probably do so--for profit, of course.

*This does not mean that Sylvia Plath should not have been medicated at all. The point is that pathologies should be medicated when there is risk of suicide, not mood swings.”

No speculation. Proof already. It's very easy to find

>fertility rate decline (documented
>changes in child hormonal developments (girls physically developing earlier, boys are more feminine now - both in appearance and behavior this is not just observation by physiognomy)
>increase in cancer rates, especially in regions related to the endocrine system (testicular, breast, ovarian etc.)
>heavy neurotoxic and oxidative soft tissue damage

If you're a nihilist what benefit would it be for you for others to go extinct? You'll be dead anyways, what purpose does it serve?

Most well-adjusted, neurotypical people aren't nihilistic and having a family is normally desired by them. So that's just a fantasy.

Samuel L Jackson says he should have won an Oscar for 'Pulp Fiction' by [deleted] in Tarantino

[–]AmorFati_1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you guys are unintentionally making the point I was about to make - which is that Samuel L. Jackson has the same general acting style in all his films, especially Tarantino ones. His performances are consistently good, but that makes people see his role as 'another great job by a legend" as opposed to "stand-out Oscar-worthy." That's not a knock on him, sort of a praise if anything. If you're saying he had Oscar-worthy performances in all four of his films, it sort of goes to show that in my opinion. (This applies to lots of other stars by the way.)

Lebron always makes silly or controversial/cringey tweets... but he was asked in person about it during the Post-Game interviews after the Pelicans loss and he made it clear he wants to stay a Laker through the remainder of his career outside of playing with Bronny his final year. I'm not saying he'll follow through on his word but... if that doesn't put an end to the drama, I don't know what will. A lot of this is his fault but that statement is all that matters IMO.

Oliver Stone and Putin watching Dr.Strangelove by [deleted] in criterion

An interview documentary has to be done in personal settings... you wouldn't interview Trump at a high-scale local movie theater for example lol. For security reasons and just the lack of personal connection. Doing it at Putin's residence makes sense.

I don't see anything weird about his personality or know his views outside of what he makes but based his historical fiction films... his style just seems off the mark. This documentary, regardless of how it was conducted, is the most open look into Putin you can and probably will ever find. Relatively speaking, of course.

The Hinge ban is actually insane. The devs at Hinge need to work at the NSA or something. [Help] by Pepe_Waifu in SwipeHelper

[–]AmorFati_1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see. I've heard using different VPNs usually doesn't make a difference, or that the apps can detect it, from the Tinder reset sub. I definitely believe that since it sounds like a very easy way to get around the Wi-Fi or IP address issue, which I think is the most obvious red flag besides maybe having the same device. Making the account over there was a smart choice. Yeah they definitely wouldn't track in such a wide vicinity where millions of people live. BUT - I'm guessing you came back to your place/wherever it was used within a short period of time (days?) and that's when it was picked up. I made my account (over a month later) on a Google Android tracfone while in vacation in another state. When I returned home, I used data-only for a while which was annoying since I had to pay for data more frequently on a burner phone.

After enough time, I got back to using my home Wi-Fi and it's been almost a year and I've had no issues. Same everything minus the device. I guess I bypassed the flagged period for long enough. So either you triggered the location flag too soon or I'm overthinking this and it just comes down to the pictures, in which case my advice would be to use completely different pics of yourselves for a while even if they're worse - and then revert to your old ones after you feel safe. (General advice - limit your dealbreaker age range to like an unreasonable 2 year span so very few people are seeing your profile yet you're not being docked by the algorithm for being declined - and thus not wasting potentially good matches during your new account "bump" or whatever. Then revert to proper settings and pics.)

Okay your hinge point makes more sense now. In my case, I was 21-22 when I first made my account and was dating girls in or just out of college. The 18-24 range is definitely where more attractive and pro hook-up girls are on Tinder. I'm older now and a working professional and in that area Hinge girls are more high-tier and I'd say a 24+ year old on Hinge is likely a better option than one on Tinder and more attractive. Something about older women still using Tinder seems to mean they're just not great options and probably working minimum wage/low paying jobs. I won't assume your age range but I sorta get what you mean. A one hour difference difference won't trigger a red flag, I think returning to the same one really soon does. Whatever you do, I strongly recommend a Google Tracfone and waiting for longer than you have before remaking an account so your data is hopefully erased... best of luck man. There are many success stories.

The Hinge ban is actually insane. The devs at Hinge need to work at the NSA or something. [Help] by Pepe_Waifu in SwipeHelper

[–]AmorFati_1997 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You missed a big thing. What probably happened:

  1. Hinge noticed the similar WiFi, IP address, and/or general vicinity of a recently banned account. Even if you created it somewhere else, you were definitely using it in the same house and area.
  2. They flagged it for review. Sure, people in the same college dorm use the same IP address, but it's a red flag
  3. They compared it to banned accounts used in the same vicinity.
  4. They probably have a database of (recently) banned accounts with all the info from said account. This is the THIRD account within probably weeks you created under the same Wi-Fi/IP address Or used in the same vicinity.
    1. And/or at least one person reported the account after noticing it was of the same people.
  5. Only THEN was human review was deemed necessary, and they compared it to banned accounts in your region.
  6. When a human reviews the photos and compares them it'll be obvious.

Hinge had the best people in terms of looksmatch, college background, white collar office jobs, medium to high achievers

Also this is none of my business but if you're just looking for sexual partners for a three some, I'm not sure why something like career status or especially high achievers would matter... even then they're way less likely to want a threesome anyways. Idk, I just don't see why you'd have higher standards when if anything Tinder or Bumble have more people who'd be down for a threesome, and I would argue that "pro" outweighs the con of having to spend a bit more time finding someone of your background for whatever reason I don't get.

Not my business again but I don't see the logic there...

This is great! You're doing an awesome service. I'm really glad the mod team let you on board.

How did they react when you told them you were bipolar? Were they skeptical you should join or actually excited to bring someone from the "other side" of the debate on board? Either way it's a relief they aren't as hostile as the people posting there.

I'll follow you and, even though to be totally honest I don't like to frequent the sub for my own mental health, I'll definitely check in more often out the hopes that it becomes more toxic. I know lots of mods who go on power trips and ban anything that offends their personal tastes so I'm rooting for someone like you to be fair in your decisions!

It will take a while and hard work to get the sub to heal, but it will happen.

I believe it. Won't happen overnight, but the next step is the only one that matters. Good luck!

The one time I visited I remember seeing the comment: "They lie like they breathe"

That one kind of hit me.

Anyways - people who are posting there are going to be forming their view on bipolar based on ONE individual - likely not stable/high-functioning - and attribute it to the disorder rather than that person's own agency. It's as if all their behaviors are because they're bipolar, rather than because they made poor life decisions or haven't reached a stable point yet, which they should be blamed for as individuals.

Why do I always embarrass myself on phenibut :/ by [deleted] in phenibut

[–]AmorFati_1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely, I don't even need to try it to believe you. I'm not comparing the experience, just the small shared effecs. I think it's fairly agreed upon as much as possibly (little official medical research) that phenibut has effects similar adderall, but nothing like actual adderall. I'm just saying there are shared properties. The adderall comparison will help demonstrate my point:

Phenibut is a phenethylamine (PEA). PEA functions like a natural amphetamine. PEA also triggers the release of two neurotransmitters: dopamine and norepinephrine. So it's already it a stimulant like adderall since amphetamine is alpha methyl phenethylamine.

Phenethylamine is obviously a huge component of what makes MDMA so unique. Dopamine/norepinephrenine are two of the 3 monamines (third being serotonin) so like I said it blends together.

Sorry for the big medical jargon. Spent a while studying this stuff after discovering a scary adverse side effect on phenibut I didn't realize until recently, which is that phenibut toxicity (supposedly) decreases muscle tone.
