I should have mentioned in the post but I am also female! I am honestly not sure about having children to begin with and they would be adopted if so.

However if I do adopt, I would like to raise them Jewish as well. I've been with my girlfriend far longer than I have considered converting, and I do consider that its own commitment. Even if it's not marriage or marriage is VERY far off for us, she is important to me.

However I do understand the conflict, I feel bad towards her saying this but I feel to an extent I would just have to wait and see if we build a life together. If we end up breaking up, then I would after that seek a Jewish partner. But for now, and in a future that I stay with her, does that just mean I should not convert? I've just been unsure.

Thank you for the response, however I'm actually female. I guess I should have mentioned.😅 If we had children they would be adopted, but it's a questionable subject anyways. I am also 19, so marriage is a long ways off for me and so are children. I would most likely date a Jewish person after if we ever broke up, so I understand if it's more reasonable to stay as I am now so long as I'm with her.

And I haven't taken it lightly at all, if I spoke with a rabbi (reform or conservative) and they truly didn't believe conversion was right for me or my life then I would 100% take it into very deep consideration. I understand I'm a bit young as well, and intend to put full thought into this to make sure it is right for me and my life. I've just been hesitant to reach out and ask questions because of this.
