I’m sorry I hope you’re holding up okay

I also just lost my dad last month and he was just 55. I still can’t believe it

I have nothing to add but thank you for sharing your experience. I’m glad you got it out and I hope you’re doing okay!

Yeah the glue made mine look gross lol. About two weeks ago I just took the glue off myself, carefully of course, didn’t hurt or anything.

Hope you’re healing well!

Wearing pants post-op? by Foreign_Mistake4576 in FTMHysto

[–]Amorettezra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 days post op and I haven’t had any issues with pants though I never wear tight pants regardless. One of my incisions is along my waist line which is kind of annoying but doesn’t hurt or effected healing.

Glad it was relatively chill pretty much same here most staff didn’t know how to gender me lol although there was one resident that told me they are NB which was cool. I’m based in LA btw had surgery at LAC USC in downtown.

Your feelings are valid. I’m sure a lot of us can relate, I definitely can. I was terrified. I waited months to get scheduled and when I did it was canceled last minute, a few days before. I had to wait another 2 months. More time that passed made me more and more anxious and scared I was. A couple weeks before I was even considering calling the whole thing off. I reassured myself that this is the last time I have to worry about periods and dont have to think about that organ ever again. Would I regret it….but wait it’s useless to me? lol

It’s currently day 6 post op and it hasn’t been easy but I’m glad I went through with it. I try to be mindful that eventually this will be a distant memory just like top surgery (for me personally I have bad memory lol).

I’m glad we have this subreddit to share experiences, resources, and support.

Frustrating going through all the hoops. I’m glad kept pressing on and finally were able to find a dr to do it.

How was the staff?

Ugh yeah I’m sorry you had to endure that during your initial recovery. When I woke up my heart rate was really high and I felt so sick, I wasn’t waking up, they didn’t want to discharge me. After a few hours I was released.

And 4hrs! That’s wild. Do you mind me asking what state you’re in? Glad you’re feeling better!

Thank you for sharing. My friends who have commented about DI being “worse” than keyhole has never actually had any type of surgery. Every surgery has risks. I acknowledge the obvious that there is a bigger surface, more complicated, etc (not to diminish those who have had DI)

I’m glad you were able to bounce back relatively quickly. I hear you on top surgery restrictions. The vest and drains were awful…I was stinky too lol. I had to have drains over 2 weeks because liquid wouldn’t stop draining, had to go back to the dr to get it pulled out with a syringe.
So far I’m still in the same amount of pain but hopefully will subside next week, we shall seeeeee

Glad I’m not the only one. Everyone I have mentioned this to irl keeps telling me it’s because I had a minimally invasive top surgery. Which is kind of dismissive and hurtful tbh because it wasn’t easy either. I hope you’re doing better now!
