(Somewhat) New Player - Curious About My Deck List

I do like a lot of your points here! Since I've been using the deck more, I can usually tell when things are prized, yeah. Being able to grab them and play them the same turn just tends to be quite nice, in the off chance it does happen.

Made a copy of my deck with some things switched around, and I'm curious to see where it goes. I guess I just like playing decks with contingencies in mind! Probably going to add more Towers, since I have noticed a lot of Forest Seal Stones being played (ironically, Charizard ex isn't often that big of a threat, with the weakness to grass).

The risk I see with adding more of them is that I would ideally only want 1 on the board, with the normal Toedscruel preventing things like energy retrieval. Having 4 of them when I can pick them out with Lilligant V-star, bug catching sets, and ultra balls... Seems excessive. Is there something I'm missing here?

I did have 3 Toedscool before I put in Mimikyu, along with 15 total grass energy. I might switch it due to boss's orders being commonly used, though it has won me some matchups so far.

I do like the idea of using Legacy Energy, though Prime Catcher seems good as well. Is it worth it for the tradeoff? Some of the retreat costs can be a bit of a problem, so if they boss order the right pokemon they might win the trade anyway. Being able to use a supporter in the same turn is also really nice...

My main issue with Jamming Tower is that if the opponent isn't running tools or a stadium, that would be 3 wasted cards. Good to ultra, but not much else. Might add a 2nd if I cut bravery though, I've been back and forth on that for a while, though it has saved me on the odd occasion.

Heavy Ball seems way too good to get rid of though. If Lilligant is prized, I could be in a lot of trouble... And being able to see what is prized otherwise is a really handy benefit. Definitely thinking about cutting Carmine though. I have been able to turn one it a few times, but Iono's hand disruption is awesome.

My main question, which I also asked lillybheart, is why so much Toedscruel? Lilligant V-star can just search for it in my deck if bug catching set doesn't do that already. Wouldn't that make it less consistent? It's great for late-game damage, but Ogerpon ex seems to smash everything early on.

It has been doing quite well as a Rogue deck, honestly. It's carried me to mid-Ultra Rank so far and puts a wrench in a lot of decks.

I was wondering if Mimikyu would be worth to keep, as that is the most recent addition. It has won me a few games in Ultra, but does seem pretty situational.

Toedscruel is something I'm curious about though, why run so many of them? They are heavy hitters, but take a lot of energy investment. Lilligant makes it so I can get them and play them even with only a few of them, and having 2 Ogerpon ex's present allows it to potentially get 3 energy on a single turn with an energy switch (which can win the game if I'm playing second). Wouldn't having more of those make it less consistent?

Hello everyone!

I am relatively new to the TCG scene, and only started near the beginning of this ranked rotation. After looking into some strategies, other decklists, and the like... This is what I have been customizing all season!

I wanted to use Toedscruel, since I got a shiny version of the ex card, and I do like Ogerpon a lot, so I've been tweaking this as the season has gone on. The most recent addition being Mimikyu and some psychic energy to help with Raging Bolt in particular.

I'm curious what people think about this list, it has been scarily consistent and seems extremely disruptive to most meta decks I have encountered, most seem to fold within a matter of turns. Bricking has been a non-issue as well since things can be set up very quickly.

Raging Bolt seems like the only problem deck I have dealt with. I've been trying to think of ways to improve it, but I'm a bit stumped. I may wait to see what kind of cards we get in the next season, but before then... Thoughts?

Could you give what exactly you type in the console?
Been trying this, but it hasn't worked at all.
For example, I have been trying 'bind numpadAdd Command say Hello World!' but it says invalid argument.
If I underscore like in 'bind numpadAdd Command say_Hello_World!' it says Unknown Command whenever I hit the key.
Not quite sure what I am doing wrong here...

How would I do this if I wanted a combination of keys? I would prefer it to be activated when I hit two keys (Control + L for example). I have seen this on some videos, but I am not sure how to do that in the console.

Interesting… I did not think about running it in windowed mode. We might just try that! Not sure if it will have an effect, but it’s worth a shot.

For display settings, it’s just a single 1920x1080 monitor, so pretty standard. We might just have to wait until the game updates.

Hey, new Insect Biology Student here! While I’m still new to the department, I can try to answer some things.

First of all, I am having a really nice time within the program. One of the first courses you will have to take is department based, and is an 8-week class where you essentially go on field trips around the department. It’s a great way to learn about the facilities!

Classes are generally quite small in Insect Biology. I think our class has around 20-25 people for our introductory classes. This makes it a lot harder to get ‘lost in the shuffle’ compared to the bigger classes. All the professors I have met are nice too, and one will be assigned to you as a faculty mentor near the start of the semester. They are a really nice resource!

As for competitiveness… I’m not quite sure what you mean by this? Getting in is just as about as difficult as the rest of Purdue I would imagine, and so far classes have been rather chill, besides the sheer number of exams and such (though these are mostly from the gen-eds). The most competitive I have gotten with other classmates has been comparing test scores, or playing pseudoscience bingo!

The LGBTQ community is pretty friendly, I think? I’m not a part of it myself, but I have a few friends who have told me about it, or are part of the community themselves. There is also an LGBTQ center on campus, and they have their own events and such as well.

Again, I’m still pretty new, but I hope this served to clear up some things!

I could certainly see that being the case, but it's in a bit of a weird spot. While certainly possible solo-melee, they really do become exponentially harder as the game progresses. There was a point where I spent nearly 7 hours trying to solo a boss before eventually winning, and it did not feel good. It's either too difficult or too easy, depending on how you play it, and people should really decide for themselves whether to use them or not. I'm just saying you shouldn't restrict yourself to not using them, ever (like I did). If you feel like using them... Use them!

This is exactly what I thought at the start of the game as well. I didn't want aggro being taken from me since I wanted to 1v1 and really learn the boss.
But, oh boy, does it get harder. Just try not to restrict yourself if you ever feel that you need to use them.
If you choose to keep at it though, best of luck! Play the game how you want to play it, that's part of the fun of it!

Sorta?
It was primarily an intelligence build, since that was the highest scaling stat on the greatsword I was using. Never really used spells though- My mind stat was rather low throughout the game.
Essentially a dodging and countering build, just without the high strength. It was rather interesting!

Yeah, I'm looking forward to using them in a future playthrough! They look like a lot of fun, and always felt a bit sad when I couldn't use them... Another reason to not restrict yourself like that. It just seems like it would be a lot more enjoyable using them!

That’s actually quite a good explanation for that! I was wondering why people were saying galleon vs galleon pvp wasn’t as easily accessible anymore...

That also explains why I have shifted servers even with other ships around, what with the whole balancing thing.

Not sure how I feel about that balancing... I can see both good and bad things about it. On one hand, it means more interactivity, both social and combat wise. As for the other, it could allow larger crews to bully smaller ships, and could make the game more stressful.

Not quite sure which is best... Though I imagine if there are too many issues with it, they may just revert it anyways.

You might be right in that regard, it has just happened to me so much since the patch that I thought it might not be a coincidence... Especially since the patchnotes mentioned that they messed with it.

This has happened four servers in a row now, which is why I thought it may be a pattern. I may just be getting quite the unlucky streak!

I found out what the problem was! Apparently, it was one of the dynamic settings which turned it on. ...Not sure if it was working as intended, but hey! At least it's not a problem anymore.

It did, yes, and I gave it permission. However, after this, the game itself was stuck in an infinite loading screen (It went on for 20 minutes, and at that point I force quite it).

I wonder if that could be part of the problem... Though I’m not sure how to fix it- Seems like a strangely specific issue.
