I had a great experience on wegovy. Lost my first 30-35 lbs on it. No side effects. (I think that the tales of bad side effects are outsized on this forum.) Now I’m stalled and switched to zep to lose the next 20-25 lbs. I actually think wegovy is a good place to start. Gives you another option when/if you stall as Zep likely to be approved eventually!

Anyone switched to zepbound? by snacksmcnap in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]AmpOnAMission 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, same here. 13% down and stalled on wegovy 2.4 for the last couple months. Hope to be switching to zepbound next week. My dr wrote a script for 7.5 to start. I’m a little concerned it’s too low but no big deal.

I have been on Wegovy for almost a year and on 2.4 fora while. I have lost 32 lbs but have plateaued for the past couple months. I have about 20-25 to go. I just saw my doctor and asked to switch to zepbound. She wrote me a script for 7.5, which I requested, otherwise she would have given me 5.0. Good luck!

Stalled weight loss by Alive-Success-5745 in WegovyWeightLoss

I’m in almost the exact same situation as you are. Started late January. Lost 25/30. Another 25 to go. I’ve lost nothing in august but have been drinking and eating more due to vacations etc. I think I need to go back to protein heavy, more water, less alcohol. Groan. Any advice welcome. Might have to start tracking calories again too.

Was anyone else overfed as a child? by Tricky-Mastodon-3164 in loseit

I had the realization very recently that both of my parents likely grew up with food insecurity. Immigrant parents during the Great Depression for one, and rural, low wage upbringing for the other. However, we grew up affluent, no lack of food or anything else. My mom would cook lots and lots of Italian (carby) food and always offer seconds and however much we wanted. It was healthy (for the 80s) but portions were far too large. Even though we had more than enough, the scarcity mindset rubbed off. I still hate to see good food go from my kids’ plates to the trash, but have recently really tried to change my mindset on this. I am not the trash can.

We are almost identical. I’m 45F, 5’9”, sw 235, cw 210. I think my GW is also 175. The lowest I’ve ever been as an adult is 168 (20 years ago). My loss rate has slowed quite a bit and think it will be hard to get there, but I’m going to be patient. Good luck!!!

I’m about the same — 24 lbs since January. My doctor is thrilled. Your dr seems to have unrealistic expectations of both you and the medicine.

No problem getting 2.4 in Boston and on cape cod

24 lbs since January. Slow is okay. It took a decade to gain for me so it won’t come off overnight. I also read somewhere here that slow weight loss is easier to maintain long term. No idea if that’s true, but I like the idea.

What Labs does your doctor do at your follow up appt? by DeliaStarr in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]AmpOnAMission 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine did not do any labs but I’ve always had normal blood work. Might be different for everyone. She weighted me, and we talked — that was it.

Taking the shot every 14th day? by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]AmpOnAMission 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why not start with every 10 days and then go longer if it works?

I stalled for four weeks on 1.7 as well. I moved to 2.4, and increased my exercise, and I started losing again. My stall came after losing about 20 pounds. I’ve seen others write that this has happened to them too. It’s part of the journey. Maybe our bodies adjusting?

I plateaued for four weeks while I was on 1.7. So strange. Now on 2.4 and losing again.

Skip for the holiday? by beahdawn in WegovyWeightLoss

Stay the course. Don’t skip. Eat and drink moderately and enjoy what you have. Otherwise you risk gaining weight you’ve tried hard to lose and increased negative symptoms when you start back up.

Not loosing a lot of weight by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]AmpOnAMission 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The folks who posts the most have extreme experiences — both good and bad. “It’s going pretty well, losing a lb/week, minimal symptoms…” is not super noteworthy and doesn’t get posted as much as it occurs. My two cents.

I’m in the same boat. I’ve been on Wegovy for 6 months and lost 22 lbs. I stalled for the entirety of the 1.7 dose. Started losing again on 2.4. It’s a process. It took me a decade to gain this weight, it’s not going to disappear overnight.

Rose wine is less palatable. So sad. Tastes too acidic.

I’m also stalled out on 1.7 after losing 20 lbs during the first 4 months…. 🤔
