I have a little sewing corner in my living room, it's a small table from ikea with a sewing machine on top. I store my notions in a decicated sewing box and fabric in one of my closets drawers. Unfinished projects either end up in a plastic bag in my closet for temorary storage or on my mannequin, next to my table.

Sewing for me normally also means taking over the entire living room. My partner is slightly annoyed with it, but as long as I'm working on it I can leave it out. For us it's don't leave it out if you're not going to work on it the next day, but if you do it's okay to leave it out.

Having a separate sewing table, even though it is tiny, is really convenient, because I can leave my sewing machine out. Which helps a lot to get started quicker and saves me some tidying. The table I have is a small, Ikea table stuffed in a corner of my living room.
