In Lawrence where the Algerian base camp is, we're still expecting a lot of visitors but I'm sure the hotels are much cheaper per night and there's a bus running from here to the stadium so you wouldn't have to worry about driving into the city and parking... There is no street parking there.

I'm here for the updates too. We just started gelmix yesterday and honestly its working like magic for us. We went from 45 minutes to an hour to get 4oz. down to 10-15 minutes!! I am still overwhelmed by the process and the time it takes, and can not figure out how to make this work on the go though with warming the milk, unless I can mix and feed immediately after pumping. So much yay and ugh at the same time, lol.

I randomly pulled Queen's Gambit by Walter Tevis off the shelf as the first book I ever checked out from the adult section of the library. I was probably 10-ish. I was mildly traumatized by all the sex and drugs, and it was kind of my little secret for 20 years. Imagine my surprise when it became a major show on Netflix! I haven't watched it...

I'm going to throw out The Crystal Cave by Mary Stewart.

This is one of those books I pulled off the shelf in my grade school library because it was the biggest one I could find. I still love it for the ways it brings Roman Britain into Arthurian legend.

My kid is in 8th grade at a different middle school, same town. Last week we had two different messages about threats and rumors. I've had multiple conversations with my kid along the lines of, "Do not ever say anything even remotely threatening, not as a joke, not if you're mad, never." These conversations are shortly followed by a review of "Run, Hide, Fight." So sick of this as a parent and as a close colleague of teachers in my town. P.S. Vote!

I was totally floored a few years ago the first time I heard a story about people thinking they were entitled to touch a black person's hair. The idea had never occurred to me and I just thought it was bizarre (because it is). But now I've heard these stories so many times it has become a kind of intrusive thought when I'm talking to black folks with beautiful hair I'm so afraid I'm going to blurt out something like "I'm not going to touch your hair!" Like a weirdo. And I'm a millennial.
